    I'll start with mine---As a boy,
Sparring nightly with boxers from the stable of LT Heavyweight champion
    John Henry Lewis...
Shaking hands with young Ray Robinson, BEFORE he turned pro...
Watching a young guy before me ,going through a turnstyle at St.Nick's
Arena, holding a small bag..It was young Billy Graham, who was fighting a 4 rd prelim..
Watching at Stillmans Gym, a young tough looking guy, spitting on the floor
and insulting a big heavyweight in training.
A few days later seeing this toughie fighting at St Nicholas Arena under the name of Rocky Graziano..He knocked out his opponent in a 4 rd bout...And to top it off...This guy was AWOL from Camp Dix , under his
real name Rocco Barbella...Some of my early memories...And yours ?

Hearing my dad and uncle commenting on sonny Liston when he appeared on Ed Sullivan's show one night skipping rope to "Night Train". I first became aware of this thing called "the heavyweight champion of the world" and all the baddassness that came with that title.

    Bert & Turps.

I have nice memory. That was spending an evening with the gentleman, Fred Henneberry. Australian Middleweight Champion 1932. With two mates, I had a dinner at Henneberry's home in Dungog.. New South Wales.

IMO, meeting such a person has been something fortunate in my life. A great boxing connection he is.. fighting Ken Overlin, George Abrahms, Archie Moore... a good Aussie bloke.

I bet that was awesome. I just seen a few clips of Henneberry but he looked like a fantastic fighter. His fights with Ron Richards looked like wars.

D-man, great to hear from you mate.

Fred vs Richards x 10 were all fought without forgivness. Both guys wagered heavily on themselves and Henneberry was never one to lose a fight through lack of cunning or head butts. lol.

D... Do you remember about 18 months ago, maybe two years ago, when we were talking about the local tent fights in Oz?? A fellow who had a phenominal amount of victories?? 513-0 now!!! Retired 2 months ago.
