Your fav commentators, who are they? BTW, dont get pedantic about whether they are announcers or blow by blow men, also, please try not to all come out with Lamps and Merchant, that makes the thread predictable.

    My personal fav's in order....

    Reg Gutteridge
    Al Bernstein
    Harry Carpenter
    Barry Tompkins
    Steve Albert
    Barry McGuigan
    Don Dunphy
    Colonel Bob Sheridan
    Alex Wallau
    Nick Charles
    Dave Brenner

I enjoy Larry Merchant because he tells it like it is.

    The Germans.

I can't understand a word they're saying and I can still hear the fight.

I second Bob Sheridan, we usually get him for the international broadcasts and he is so much better than lampley and co.

He brings so much passion to the fight, it's so old school.

The only problem with the internatonal broadcasts is we sometimes get Mario Lopez as special commentator. The only good thing about his commentating is you can reference the phrase "saved by the bell"

Bob Sheridan is very good. I loved RJJ too - yeah, he would always find a way to talk about how great he was but his insights were excellent.

Espn classic in the uk were showing quite a few fights recently with Tessitore and John Scully - I thought they did a nice job together.

Steward, RJJ, Tarver, Mcguigan, and anyone else who has actually thrown a punch or held the focus pads at some point in their life (i.e. not Larry Merchant).
