For me Vargas 1 - Ike (the way in which he did it, the only person besides winky to ever dominate ike) 2 - Winky (though it was close, the quality of winky makes it 2 imo) 3 - Campas? (he outboxed and made quit a very handy journeyman, one that is giving some middleweights fits in todays scene) 4 - Marquez 5 - Ross the boss... yes i know that this win doesnt mean much but ross has fought A LOT OF GUYS, and vargas was actually able to get rid of him, in fact, before vargas i dont think ross had ever been down in a fight, he went on i THINK i could be wrong to fight lacy and pavlik and went the distance with both later in his career, again though i could be wrong on that, but this was an emotional fight for vargas and he pulled through with an impressive thompson that outweighed him by more then 10lbs on fightnight. ---- In retrospect, the castillejo and joval wins werent as bad as i thought they were at the time, just as a thought. dont make the lists obviously but not as worthless fights now considering what they did afterwards (which still isnt much but i didnt think theyd do anything)
Shane Mosley: Oscar De la Hoya 1 Luis Collazo Fernando Vargas 2 Jesse James Leija Oscar De la Hoya 2 Roy Jones Jr: James Toney Montell Griffin 2 Virgil Hill John Ruiz Bernard Hopkins Marco Antonio Barrera: Erik Morales 3 Naseem Hamed Erik Morales 2 Kennedy McKinney Johnny Tapia
Mayorga 1 - Forrest 1 2 - Forrest 2 3 - Lewis 4 - Vargas 5 - Cruz i dont know... outside of forrest and lewis its kinda in the air... cruz i dont care what his record says, he can punch and he came to knock mayorga head off... and mayorga destroyed him. Lewis was undefeated and a very decent boxer. I guess i coulda added picharello or whatever his name was as 5... vargas although was NOT El Feroz as we knew him, was still a bigger guy with an ok punch despite not getting his back and core into his punches, and mayorga fought much much much higher then he ever should have... so by default ill add that i suppose.
pac 1 - barrera (first fight, total domination of a prime top 3 p4p fighter) 2 - morales (2nd fight, methodical destruction, first to legit KO the HOF mexican warrior) 3 - jmm (very close win against a great prime technical boxer with a nightmare style for him) 4 - ledwaba (devastating KO of a strong legit champ, took the fight at two weeks notice, the fight that started it all for pac in the US) 5 - sasakul (ko'd the linear champ at the tender age of 19)

James Toney: 1.) Michael Nunn (Toney explodes onto the boxing scene by pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the year, knocking out one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world) 2.) Vassiliy Jirov (Toney, fighting in his 4th weight class, defeats the consensus best cruiserweight in the world) 3.) Iran Barkley (An absolute masterpiece. Toney dominates Barkley from the opening bell) 4.) Mike McCallum II (A strategic back-and-forth fight that ultimately sees Toney as the victor over the legendary Bodysnatcher) 5.) Evander Holyfield (Toney, a former middleweight fighting as a heavyweight, dominates the former undisputed champion. In a fight that many picked Holyfield to win based on his size, Toney's combinations stop Holyfield in his tracks)

I was so tempted to put Dawson, Ottke and all the other fights he was robbed of. Then again, Dawson was a close fight, and I havent' seen most his other robberies, so it wouldn't be right. Glen Johnson is a machine, one of the most underrated fighters of all time.
