Good points... Chi was a good fighter who only ever lost once in his prime & that was vs Morales, underrated win for Morales. I might slip him in ahead of Guti, I would keep Kelley on the list because even tho he was faded a bit by the time he fought Morales, he was a very good fighter at one point & I think the thread starter wants the best guys on the list as opposed to how good the guys were at the time of the fight otherwise how would you rate a guy that Erik fought 2 or 3 times, they would likely perform at a different level in each fight as in the EM/Espadas I & II fights..... best just to rate them as fighters rather than what stage they were at when facing your fighter if you get what I mean. Botswana :smoke
damn... last i saw this thread died lol... im glad people started listing, i like seeing fighters top opponents... gives me more of an appreciation for their body of work, Hopkins and Toneys records are stacked...
Don't care if you disagree. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth to have a shot fighter above his natural weight in someone's top 10.
Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins 1. Roy Jones Jr. - L12 2. Joe Calzaghe - LSD12 3. Antonio Tarver - UD12 4. Winky Wright - W12 5. Kelly Pavlik - W12 6. Oscar De La Hoya - KO9 7. Felix Trinidad - TKO12 8. Glen Johnson - TKO11 9. Jermain Taylor - LSD12, L12 10. Antwun Echols - UD12, TKO10 Possibly tenth spot could have other names also. The first nine were clear in my opinion. Great thread. I like this quite a bit.
zab judah His resume is not bad eather 1 - Mayweather - L/UD 2 - Zoo - L/KO 3 - Cotto - L/KO 4 - Spinks - W/KO and L/Decision (cant remember what kind) 5 - Clottey - L/TKO 6 - Witter - W/UD 7 - Ward - W/UD 8 - Baldomir - L/UD 9 - Corley - W/UD 0 - ????? Rivera? W/KO Hes 5-6 against his top 10 opponents
Could one do one for Micky Ward? as much as i like him i dont know much about his opponents very much.... this is all i would know Micky Ward 1 - Zab Judah - L UD 2 - Gatti - W/L/L 3 - JJL - L TKO (cut i think?) 4 - Burton/Augustus W Thats about it lol....
Also.... could someone do one for Wlad? I could do one but its hard for me to rank his opponents.... lol. Not sure as of right now who exactly would be a clear number 1. This is all just an estimate lol... its hard for me to rank his opponents for some reason 1 - Byrd W/UD W/KO 2 - Brewster W/KO L/KO 3 - Sanders L/KO 4 - Peter W/UD 5 - Sultan W/UD 6 - Brock W/KO 7 - Monte W/KO 8 - Mccline W/TKO 9 - Botha W/KO 0 - TOS W/TKO not as good as i thought actually.... i know the ranking sucks as im really lost on where to put these guys... and not sure if purrity is better then anyone else on his top list despite the fact he has a win over him... maybe botha? damn.. but for some reason im a little underwelmed by his top 10. at any rate hes 10 - 2 if you dont count purrity 9-3 against his top 10 if you count purrity
Holy crap... so he got tko'd in 3? do you know that story behind that? was it a cut or was he actually sparked?
Byrd 1 - Wlad L UD L KO 2 - Vitali W TKO 3 - Ike L KO 4 - Tua W UD 5 - Holyfield W UD 6 - Golota D 7 - Mccline W SD 8 - TOS W UD 9 - Purrity W UD 0 - Povetkin - L TKO 6-4-1 against his top 10 Now that is a good heavyweight resume
Thought id do one for Big Frank...... 1. Mike Tyson ( L TKO5,TKO3) 2. Lennox Lewis ( L TKO 7 ) 3. Tim Witherspoon ( L TKO 11 ) 4. Oliver Mccall ( W UD ) 5. James ' Bonecrusher ' Smith ( L KO10 ) 6. James ' Quick ' Tillis ( W TKO 5 ) 7. Jessie Ferguson ( W TKO 1 ) 8. Carl ' The Truth ' Williams ( W TKO 10 ) 9. Reggie Cross ( W TKO 8 ) 10. Joe Bugner :yep ( W TKO 8 ) Shows a few things, frank was severely lacking at the highest level ,hardly ever fell over when getting battered and nearly always had to be rescued by the ref. But he had a very hard punch indeed.
