Gerald McClellan’s jab was like a shotgun whenever he used it. Ike Quartey and Tommy Hearns jabs are my favorites.
Oscar had a phenomenal jab. He was such an exceptional fighter, I didn’t appreciate him when he was fighting. But outstanding jab, impeccable footwork when he used it, an iron chin. Could punch and box. Just a thing of beauty to watch.
Golovkin. Watching Golovkin parry your jab and simultaneously counter with his own jab while putting steam on it was a thing of beauty.
Hearns for me, no other jab comes close from a purely aesthetic point of view, it was beautiful to watch. His lead hand control in general was amazing, posting with it, framing with his lead hand, blinding his opponents by extending it to set up the right. Much of what he did with the lead hand we saw Steward pass onto Lewis and then Wlad and then through sugar hill to Fury.
