We already had a thread of best African fighters, and now's the time for your favorites.. My favorite currently is Cornelius Boza Edwards, pretty likeable style and never became a stepping stone once. He's pretty much a smaller Joe Louis with his strategy and physique like Morales, good technical fighter with good reach, but engages in a brawl every 10 seconds or so.
David "Poison" Kotey Unknown Commonwealth champion travelled from Ghana to Los Angeles to face the fearsome 2 time Bantam and Featherweight champion Ruben Olivares who the previous year nearly beat a young Alexis Arguello and had just regained the World title by crushing Bobby Chacon (his 2nd ko of Chacon who had recently destroyed undefeated puncher Danny Lopez). Kotey scored a 1st round knockdown and then boxed beautiful to take a 15 round split-decision in front of Olivares rabid fans who caused a riot straight after.
I sort of ignored the assignment and gave my answer for this in the other thread. Ike Quartey and Silence Mabuza.
