This has been a terrible year for boxing but my favorite moment has to be Gary Russell Jr getting badly outclassed by Loma. He spent years talking isht about all the top fighters while hiding in the safe arms of TBA. Oh... look who he fights next? LOL. You can talk isht once you earn it.
Diablo's comeback against Chakhkiev is #1 for me. Crawford's turning-the-tide against Gamboa because despite being able to predict it beforehand and see it coming, it was great to watch unfold. "The bite," "the tackle," and "the knee" in those two PPV fights caused quite the stir. Froch-Groves II is a good shout out and the build up to that was huge and the final punch delivered. Kovalev vs. Hopkins round 1 and round 12 were meaningful and tense.
I actually just thought of my possible top moment. Kind of a couple moments from one fight that together may well be my favorite moment. Two words: Tim Lane. Round 3: "Beautiful. Beautiful. Two more rounds like this. Do you see how it's all unfolding?" Round 7: "We're right where we want to be." Round 10: "He's gonna put Manny to sleep. I'mma let him out the cage soon." Round 11: "Okay baby, this is round 2."
