    Rocky
    Raging Bull
    Rocky 6

Thought Rocky 1-4 were great movies about the human spirit with boxing as a backdrop, but in 6 it took the main stage. Tarver was great in it.

I did n't like IV and V very much. The sixth was the best since III. Fist two will always be my faves in that series.

Have you heard that there's going to be another ? Rocky will be mentoring Apollo's grandson

Cinderella Man has the best choreographed fight scenes, but maybe I'm biased cause I love that film.

Creed. Michael B. Jordan plays Apollo's grandson and seeks out Rocky as a mentor apparently.

Can't believe my all time favorite hasn't been mentioned yet. 'The Champ'. The original version with Wallace Beery. Beery just looked like a washed up pug.

    The great white hope.

Rocky II (my sympathies are always firmly with Clubber Lang)

I loved some of the old flicks with boxing themes. I remember Battling Bellhop with Edward G. There were 3 movies by Jimmy Cagney and they were eventually incorporated into flashback or films in a movie he made late in life called Terrible Joe Moran. And there was another one by John Garfield - not Body and Soul which was outstanding - but one where he is accused of a murder or something, goes on the lam and is ID'd by a sharp-eyed cop who spots a photo of him in his southpaw stance teaching kids to box. Can't think of the name of it but it was a good one.

I rented it on VHS back in the day. Usual story line.

His trainer took a beating from Sugar Ray Robinson in the ring and the real Ray Robinson plays himself when he is ringside for the big showdown at the end. What he must have thought! The trainer and Robinson look at each other during points in the fight as if to say that was how they fought..

As far as I know, the only film about a Hispanic fighter.
