I wish we could call the notion that "Floyd wont be fighting for a long time due to his trial coming" a myth, but he wont be fighting for a long time and has only had 3 fights in the last 3 years so my personal excitement over his career is on hold, again. I don't waste my time thinking about Floyd Mayweather until he's signed for a fight. As a fight fan, I don't like wasting my time.

Do you realize what it would mean for his career if he admitted that?

What happened was he got excited and over exerted himself more than he can handle looking to KD Floyd after "flooring" him.

That he has a heart and spine.

Floyd truly is an amazing specimen, to be able to walk upright without a backbone.

, and the lineal title, and broke free from arum, but hey, go on with your bad self

Although Baldomir won't make close to the $8 million Mayweather will earn, his $1.5 million-plus purse to fight Mayweather in his hometown still will be his biggest ever.

This is why I said it was a bit of both...if I remember rightly, Roach was in the corner continually telling him to throw the jab. I don't necessarily believe Oscar could have won the bout if he continued with the jab, but he did have more success in the bout when he did throw, than when he neglected it.

Hatton didn't have to get down to 140lbs which meant he didn't really have to worry about his weight, and just concentrate on gameplan, etc...which is a plus. But if you have seen Hatton throughout his career, he used his strength and physicality to overpower and break his opponents. His one trip upto 147lbs, it was clear he couldn't have the same influence up at this weight...which is why he moved back down.
Mayweather himself was barely a Welterweight at that point...but even then, he was more of a Welterweight than Hatton ever was.

(Either weight though, 140lbs or 147lbs, Mayweather wins).
I've never been truly impressed by Margarito, apart from his performance against Cotto (which has question marks over it still)...but there is no denying that Mayweather's resume would look greater with his name on it. Especially when the top Welter's at the time in Cotto, Margarito, and Mosley...all fought each other.

Excellent post, unfortunately it's just a bit too neutral and logical for some people on here to comprehend; currently drooling, scratching their foreheads, trying to make sense of the situation.

Oscar didnt stop throwing his jab. He threw 70 jabs over the last 3 rounds of the fight.

Hatton weighed 4lbs more then Mayweather on fight night. Infact for all his fights at 140 he weighed more then Mayweather. Its clear that Hatton is naturally bigger then Mayweather. What weight class they fought at was meaningless.

It was not the same effective jab as he was throwing early though. But like I said, part of that credit goes to Mayweather...

Naturally bigger, you mean as in weight? So in between his bouts, Hatton was naturally bigger than some Middleweights?

Lets say Mosley's fight night weight was less than Hatton's fight night weight...would that mean Hatton was naturally bigger than Mosley?

Hatton cut down to 140lbs because that was his best weight, the big bouts were at 147lbs...this is the reason he moved up, and it was clear he couldn't bully the guys at 147lbs like he did at 140lbs. So no, he was not naturally bigger than Mayweather.

All credit goes to Mayweather if the jab is no longer effective.

Obviously. He weighs more then Mayweather on FIGHT NIGHT. He weighs more then Mayweather walking around, how exactly is Hatton not bigger then Mayweather?

Its not. So your premise is immediately false.

 Both Hatton and Mayweather moved up for the bigger bouts. Mayweather was chasing Oscar. Hell Mayweather couldnt even come into the fight against Oscar at 154, he came in at 150. HAtton comes into all his fights whether they are at 140 or 147 at or around 152. Please explain how Mayweather is the bigger man.

Seriously this isnt that hard a concept. Hatton was not blown up. He weighed exactly what he always ways. The only thing he had to do was cut down less for the original weigh in, which would help you more then hurt you.
