I wouldnt say unwilling, I would just say, that he uses his standing just to set up his takedown.. nobody can't stop it, so it's all good in my opinion.
Yup, he's basically a wrestler and GNP guy solely now, SerraI probably put a big dent in his striking confidence.
GSP has improved his boxing X 100000000 since that fight he didnt really showed it, but in the rematch vs Penn, check it out, Penn won't be as dominant as he was vs Sherk:good
Not trying to be an ass man but how do you know his boxing is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better ? He hasnt used it since that fight so you dont know unless you see him train and if you do ill shut my mouth.
Since he train with Grant, after the loss vs Serra, he has taking him as his boxing trainer(Howard Grant). i've seen him training a couple of times at Grants brother Gym and Tristar gym,Howard Grant( a coach with a former champ in Joachim Alcine). It showed already after 2 months, great difference..His boxing before that, was, normal, now it can be pronounced in the same breath as the boxing of Penn. He will show it in the Penn rematch I think I should have precised my bad
Well, given his athletic talents, it wouldn't be surprising. However it is true that he has not recently shown these skills in an actual fight, and the tko loss to Serra, and the psychlogical damage it may have caused, could more than offset his improved technique. It'd be smart to 'wait & see', as to how his striking is currently, but there might not be an opportunity: if Koscheck can't stop his takedown noone in that division can. Perhaps if he meets an excellent submissions guy he'll choose to stand, I don't know.
Ok ill take your word for it man but of course until I actually see it myself I cant say its as good as Penns although considering his boxing never was bad at all and hes a incredible athelte it would not surpise me is the slightest.
yeah of course your own opinion is needed, because, GSP is still my favorite fighter, and I must be a GSP nuthugger:yep but really, I hope he show what i'm saying vs Penn
GSP better not stand with Penn or he'll resemble a meatball in 5 minutes. I pick him to win though, just lay and gain ground control..that is it! If you think he can do anything in Penns guard, you are mistaken
