Have your favorite fighter ever had a legitimate loss without his opponent 'using' PEDs, buying off refs, or getting ribbed? I hear an excuse like the ones I listed after every close fight and fight your guy lost.. I really don't have a favorite fighter right now, but I do like Danny Garcia and he lost to One Time, which I also like.. Mayweather and Ward is undefeated soooo...lol
Marquez vs T.Bradley Even though Marquez thinks he won, I think Bradley edged enough to win. The Marquez/Pac fights I don't consider them as losses...
Pacquiao losses very early in his career and the Morales loss. After that, it's been PED users (Roidquez IV and IVayweather) and corrupt judging (Bradley I).
Oscar Ko'ed by Hopkins. Oscar was just out of his depth. His desire outweight his size and talent. BHops is just too big and skilled. Tszyu retired by Hatton. Some said Hatton had hometown refereeing allows him to do dirty stuff. But I think Hatton was just reached his peak, he fights hard each time regardless his opponents and Kostya was primed for the taking. Morales KO'ed by Pac in the rematch. Pac was on the rise, the first fight was close, pac got cut and morales fought his last great fight. Morales, Tszyu and Oscar are my fav post 90's fighters.
Ive got so much respect for Tsyzu.Hatton can be heard saying he wanted to quit and Kostya just said nothing while his corner through in the towel. Tsyzu could have used this, the ref, his shoulder all as an excuse but simply he lost...and gave Hatton huge respect. Best loss for me as I respect Tsyzu even more!
That's true, tszyu was just a fight remove from a rotator cuff surgery. My wife even got me an autograph as she works at that hospital. He could have complained about the rough house tactics and blatant low blow he received. But classy as Tszyu is, he did not. But now it did sounds like I'm making an excuse for him lol..
I've always wanted to meet him! That's cool about the autograph ! I've watched the fight at least 10 times and each time I think of "what if" (if he blasted a straight right in the 12th or the ref) but now I'm just appreciative to have watched two warriors giving it everything. And I don't think Hatton was the same after that fight either. How Hatton walked through those shots is unbelievable!
Man, you are a hard ass lol.. When my fav lost, I usually only watch once and never revisit. Till this day I've never watched that fight again. I think I watched the Phillips fight twice. Besides morales, I'm also a pac fan, and I'm never rewatch Marquez Pac 4 lol.. But I have rewatched their best wins over and over.
Was it Robinson v Maxim? Robinson a natural welter going to LH and was winning on the cards before fainting. Has to be up there but I've only seen it once.
Matthysse loss to Postol. Tho his timing, bodypunching, and stamina looked off. Perhaps those consecutive wars took their toll?
Haha...there is no method to my madness watching fights! I just think of a cool fight and have it on in the background. I am also a PAC fan but I can't watch the third Morales fight - I prefer the first fight
Tommy Hearns: I don't pick more than 5 boxers to beat a prime 147 Hearns, but one of those was active when Hearns was fighting and put his heart to beat Tommy, Leonard was something special. Michael Nunn: Nunn was past his best but Toney said he was going to catch Nunn sooner or later and he did. Pernell Whitaker: Again, he was past his prime, but Tito beat him fair and squared, Pea was tough but Tito was a beast.
