Slightly off topic ...there are so many knowledgeable boxing fans who believe that Khoakar was actually a better fighter than Khoasai ( the hall of famer) ...I find that interesting
You only need to look at there comp to know who was better- Khaosai is less impressive on film and fought worse comp. Khoakar really put on clinics hardly looked in trouble his entire career and dominated Sung Kil Moon in the return bout. I think he left no doubt in that the first fight was A an off night or B may have gone differently had Moon not been so clumsy with his noggin all the time. Both of Khoakar's losses were suspect one being an accident in a otherwise close fight against an ATG the other was... Odd to say the least. Khaosai in my eyes was never tested this does not make him a better fighter, It did however make him look like a force against pretty medicore opponents creating a certain aura. He seems to be one of those obscure to the mainstream fighters that a chunk of casuals know a lil about to act like they watch anything other then HW I have seen countless posts about him being the "Thai Tyson" "Underrated because he was ducked" ect ect. It feels like those that rate him have seen nothing more then highlights!
When Rummy did his top 15 list in each of the original divisions last year, I did a list after some research. I'll see if I can dig it up.
Howdy, I believe this is the list that I had when Rummy did the top 15 in each of the original 8 weight classes. If this isn't my top10 flyweight list from that thread, its very close to it. I simply don't remember much these days and had to do a lot of research when I initially did the lists. 1 The Mighty Atom. I just love typing that nickname btw 2 Miguel Canto 3 Pasqual Perez 4 Midget Wolgast 5 Benny Lynch 6 Frankie Genaro 7 Pongsaklak Wonganghan 8 Pancho Villa 9 Masao Oba 10 Pone Kingpetch
I forget. I am going to have to research him again. He is one of the guys I had to look more closely at.
I was just reminded the main reason he is on my list is because he beat Harada, Ebihara and Perez. Not too shabby.
From memory 2/3 of those wins were tainted- most felt Harada won as was the case with the Ebihara rematch. Do you have a card for both?
Ah, Yes Pone was stopped in the first fight against Harada It was the rematch that left a bitter taste in peoples mouths, I will score it today and leave a review in this thread at some point we could compare cards If you feel like scoring it sometime.
