He's a long ways away, but I'm keeping my eye on Tor Hamer. He seems to be much more skillful than other recent American HW prospects.
David Haye a prospect ? Yeah undisputed cruiserweight champion is just a "prospect" . Haye is probably a top5 HW, now if thats just a prospect then what do you class as a contender ?!
Haye for me...but I'm not sure if guys like Haye and Povetkin are prospects anymore. Denis Boytsov isn't bad either.
His only pro fight so far. This is a pic from the same day as that fight, fwiw. http://media.villagevoice.com/2780942.28.jpg http://media.villagevoice.com/2780945.28.jpg If interested, here's an interesting article on Hamer: http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-11-26/news/gentleman-boxer-tor-hamer/1
He's a bit more upright than Toney and somehow more static than even Toney. He's using that shell but he's not crouching and making the target smaller. I suppose we wouldn't expect that from a heavy... Yeah he looks okay in a really raw kinda way. Got to worry about his chin considering the guy he lost to.
I really wonder why Tor Hamer isnt talked about much more. He is the Tysontype that people just love.
There is a young cuban fighting out of ireland think his name is perez? Watch him he looks very promising, very fast hands, powerful and very well schooled.
I posted a thread on this guy a few months back, but it didn't get very many responses. I too think that he can make some noise in the heavyweight division, but he is still a bit raw. I didn't know that Lewis was his agent, that's cool. The last time I checked Don King was managing him.
Deontay Wilder and Tor Hamer are two of my favorites. I think both have the potential to make noise in the division.
