Favorite - Edison Miranda He always brings it, and is a reliable gatekeeper/proving grounds to the MW, and now SMW Contenders' door. If you can beat him, you're A-class material. If you're not, then you're not a true Contender. Howard Eastman - failed 40/3 record Francisco Sierra - failed 20/2 record Allen Green - failed 23/0 record Lucian Bute - success 25/0 record Andre Ward - success 18/0 record Authur Abraham - success 21/0 record Kelly Pavlik - success 30/0 record most entertaining - easily Emmanuel Augustus. You NEVER know what he's going to do, including pulling off a BIG upset. He's the last guy you want your prospect to face against. He'll never be an easy win, and you'll never look good against him....
Augustus, but he really needs to hang up the gloves. Number 2: Grady Brewer. He looks like he's all done as well.
Eric Crumble. He hasn't pulled an upset in the classical sense...or won in the official sense..but you know. Give it time. He hasn't retired yet.
You're right about Edison Miranda. The man was a serious contender at one point. With Micky Ward? Eh, he drifted beteen being a journeyman/fringe contender/top 10 contender at various points of his career.
Evander Holyfield He has been a good test for up an comers like Sultan Ibragmiov and Nicolay Valuev. Although an Ameircan star, he is a journeyman on the Euro-level circuit, having lost to every Euro-level fighter he has faced, though providing a rigid test. Roy Jones Although he was dominated in his losses, he has been a good test for such fighters as Joe Calzaghe, Danny Green, and a good confidence builder for Hopkins after his loss to Joe Calzaghe
I think he does. As a light heavyweight he was a long time journeyman before he hooked up with his new trainer and began using a more offensive style. Although I never liked him as a journeyman. He had an akward style and seemed to do only enough to lose competitively but never really fought for the win.
lol, past champions dont count as journeymen, d00fer lol nice attempt on non-euro trash -5 points for being a ****ing idiot
he's just fun to watch. gives it his all and carries himself with class. you can't ask for much more in a fighter.
As a contender and title holder, yes, he was very entertaining.. but when his career was stuck in limbo as a journeyman he was actually quite boring to watch along with the rest of the light heavyweights who milled around while Roy jones dominated the division. The only truly exciting light heavy at that time was Julian Letterlough. May he R.I.P.
