They happened on the same night. ABC had 4 major bouts back in 1980. Two of the best and cleanest KO's where on that card. Sugar Ray Leonard KO of Davy Boy Green was first than the big men. Big John Tate was giving Mike Weaver a boxing lesson when all of a sudden in round 15.....BOOM. Weaver landed one of the biggest left hooks ever landed. John Tate was an X WBA champ and the build up of a Tate Holmes fight went out the window. Great night for boxing and all free in prime time on a Monday night of all nights.
:thumbsup That is absolutely hilarious!! The "Chubby Brown shuffle" followed by an overhand right that puts the guy out!! You sir are correct, it is a classic!!
Hearns-Duran Tyson-Berbick RJJ-Griffin II (yikes) Lewis-Rahman II Jackson-Graham Tua-Ruiz.....(i get a little squeemish)
Pac - Hatton was brutal, Most of Tysons were pretty brutal, My personal Fave was Lewis Rahman II, mostly for the fact it was redemption
It was a great ko and Thomas Hearns is my all-time favourite fighter, but wtf is all this "Case closed" **** about? The post is "Your favourite ko?" not "Greatest ever ko" which I take to mean that we as posters are invited to describe our favourite ko. For the record my favourite is Choi Tseveenpureu's ko of Derry Matthews. Nothing against Derry, he's a great lad i'm sure but we had been told that Choi (A huge underdog in the fight) has a huge hitter and the word from the Hughes camp was that he would stop Matthews. So we invested a few quid and it paid dividends!
This was most definitely NOT my favourite ko!. Being a Graham fan it was all going so well, until Julian Jackson detonated that shot!!! I had heard that Jackson has suffered eye damage. I hope that is not the case and he is on top form.
Salvador Sanchez KO over Wilfredo Gomez, what a Nice KO at around 1:15 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFCvazd6AVU[/ame]
