Before Calzaghe defeated Jones he was seen as a Eurobum. Afterwards as a world class fighter who cherrypicked shot old men. People still hate on him, but even so he is given more respect. A whole bunch of boxers and boxing fans predicted that even a poor version of Jones to knock Calzaghe the **** out. In my eyes that is enough to justify the fight. Not to mention Calzaghe became filthy rich in the process.

The Hopkins fight was embarrassing for both men. Looks god on paper, but hardly stuff for legends, so to speak.

If you use Muhammed Ali as some kind of standard of what is great, thats fine. Calzaghe fought some tough guys, no greats, but tough guys who came to kick his ass. Thats no walk in the park.

Not on your radar, perhaps. But you aint the world. As I said before, Calzaghe sold out arenas. What other SMW today does that? Even so, I am to agree that the division is more respected today? In reality it has shrink.

why isnt there a poll option for the most popular chin shattering?

That of Roy Jones at the age of 50 knocking the **** out of the people who started the rather vindictive and meaningless poll at the same time with one hand behind his back.

Bit crazy to pretend that Cal was better than Roy though - no way Cal could acheive half of what Roy did and Roy made fighters of the calibre Calzaghe struggled against look like amateurs.

    Another Great WBO title holder:

On December 18, 1999, Alejandro Montiel was originally scheduled to fight Jose Lopez for the vacant flyweight crown, but withdrew a few hours before the fight. Isidro Garcia happened to be in attendance as a spectator and was asked to step in while sitting at ringside eating a doughnut. Garcia fought and won the title using borrowed trunks, protective cup and mouthpiece.

The WBO was a regional belt at best (Europe) equivalent to the Nabf title at the time.

**** it i am stopping there because I really do not care about Calslappy or RJJ. The only reason why I am on this thread i because I am bored:bart

metal mandible has hired the TEAM ELITE CORPORATION to conduct a neutral, independent investigation into this thread.

after studying all 27 pages of the thread, the team elite generals (bailey, professor IC chins, 46and0, joe boxer, timeout, GJE, and headbanger) held a 6 hour noble round table discussion complete with a decanter of the finest dandelion and burdock that money can buy.

the independent Team Elite investigation concludes the following

    1) Roy Jones Jnr never beat a lineal or unified champion in his entire career

    2) Roy Jones Jnr is a proven banned anabolic steroids user and is an absolute disgrace to the sport of boxing

    3) Roy Jones Jnr couldn't adapt in the ring, when Plan A wasn't working, he had no plan B

    4) Roy Jones Jnr could not fight in adversity. Real greats like Joe Calzaghe stared adversity in the face and came roaring back like a warrior, where as when Roy Jones Jnr faced adversity, he folded like a lawn chair.

    5) Roy Jones Jnr spent the majority of his career ducking the biggest challengers, ducking the big punchers, pricing himself out of the big fights, and instead fought sanitation workers and civil servants which in turn, even led to his HBO paymasters labelling him 'reluctant roy'

    6) Roy Jones Jnr had a disgraceful glass jaw

    7) ESB's favourite episode of shattered Roy Jones glass was the antonio tarver KO

8 - Roy Jones Jnr has a plethora of delusional fanboys on ESB who ignore all the irrefutable scientific facts and claim that Jones is superman for his wonderfull performance against shot 135lb bum vinny pazienza. these disgusting roy jones fanboys also refuse to acknowledge that roy jones is a steroid riddled disgrace, these ignorant, narrow minded fanboys simply cannot see the wood for the trees.

    9) a shot Joe Calzaghe went to the states and in only his 2nd fight at 175 'lacyied' roy jones in his own back yard.

    10) TG1 (Tiny Gippo1) has been systematically dismantled throughout the thread and has a giant **** swinging from his fragile egghead. he also weighs 105lb, is feather fisted, and would be snapped in half with just one swipe of my terrific ****.

    11) these wonderfull chincheckers will continue to research the importance of punch resistance in boxing and despite what all the fanboys and deniers may think, there is irrefutable proof that GLASS JAWS EXIST IN BOXING.

Now Jones is on the scrap heap, what is he left with?

    1. A legacy in tatters.
    2. Visible premature aging due to years of relentless steroid abuse.
    3. Early signs of brain damage due to repeated glass mandible shatterings;
