Now: Cotto - A great boxer puncher and nothing but Class and Respect from this guy. Gamboa - I for one do not fail to see how unbelievably talented this man is. Mijares - He is just "Too Cool" for everyone he gets into the ring with. Past: Tito Trinidad - Just because he brought me and our whole town a lot a lot of hype and good times! When you got a boxer that can take an entire town and get over 1,000 people out of their homes (in milwaukee, wisconsin) To cheer after a victory than you have successfully connected with your fans! Erik Morales - This guy was the man, my favorite Mex fighter...He epitomizes the term warrior. James Toney - Fearless, hard to hit, Great counters, ABSURD chin, trash talker that backed up his talk. Whats there not to love?
1) Tyson - The most destructive force in the history of boxing. 2) Roy Jones Jr. - The greatest athlete I ever saw. 3) James Toney - The greatest chin, defense, and warrior mentality. Next 3: Ricardo Mayorga - Exciting, ballsy, and great press conferences Diego Corrales - The biggest heart I ever saw. Old George Foreman - I couldn't help but root for the lovable fat man.
Pernell Whitaker- What can I say that I haven't already? Jose Napoles- One of the smoothest, most skilled, versatile boxers of all time. Roy Jones Jr.- Probably the most talented fighter of all time, and one of the very best and most exciting in his prime.
Currently my top 3 would be: Mayweather - amazing skillset Haye - freaky power and backs up his gob Cotto - great skillset and comes to fight All time is too hard to chose as there are so many out there
1. Kelly Pavlik - Home cooking, exciting as hell, Ko's to go around, etc.. 2. Miguel Cotto - ****ing searching.....SEEK AND DESTROY!! 3. Lucian Bute, Jermain Taylor, David Haye, Ricky Hatton, SSM, PBF, Chad Dawson, Izzy Vazquez, Jorge Arce, Nonito Doniare, Zabdiel Super Judah, Fulgencio Zuniga, Gamboa, Archie Solis, Humberto Soto, Edison Miranda, JM Marquez, Tim Bradley, Nate Campbell, Baby Bull, .....ALL TIE FOR 3RD.
Current Raul Martinez- Big Time San Antonio prospect Paulie Malignaggi- he has one of the best chins in the sport and he's very crafty Kelly Pavlik- Tough as nails and amazing power All Time Gatti- True Warrior Vargas- ^ Quiroga- San antonio fighter Leija- ^
Cotto: never seen a more determine and calculated boxer...determine to win... Pacquaio- teh way he has improved himself to become more multi-dimensional knowing that not by punching power alone you will be a champion for along time... Joe Calzague-demostrated that he is one of the best tactical and skillfull boxer in todays scene..many doubted him, me in cluded..but he made a beleiver out of me....
3 current favorites are: Calzaghe: Cotto: Pavlik: ( same reason for all 3,they have lots of heart and deternination and a will to win that does not go away and you have to amdire someoine who knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it.
1)Mike Tyson - don't need a reason 2)MAB - his performance against Hamed was an amazing display of boxing. Mexican warrior. 3)Arturo Gatti - Not the most talented boxer in the world but did have some skills and had some amazingly exciting fights to say the least. Close Calls - Ricky Hatton, Sugar Shane, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Evander Holyfield, Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik
1. Kelly Pavlik, He'll break your face 2. Miguel Cotto, he'll break your body 3. Roy Jones Jr. too much fun to watch, Roy Jones is legend
......................Okay......... 1. Salvador Sanchez - Exemplified what a champion should aspire to be; truly professional in every way. Dedicated, hard-working guy that harnessed his gifts into a signature style that seemed made just for him. If there was ever a fighter designed to fight the 15 round distance, it was him. Patient, superbly conditioned counterpuncher who was truly the thinking man's fighter. Always respectful of his opponents, and they returned the favor in defeat. Not a bad legacy to leave. 2. Bobby Chacon - Bobby pulls on the heartstrings. An ex-gang leader in southern California, he made his life better by racking up a string of early wins, but his excesses led to a few losses at the highest level. Still, he was so forthright and self-effacing that you couldn't help but sympathize, and so unbelieveably exciting in the ring that you had to root for him. You felt Bobby's pain in life through his adventures in the ring, and knew that no matter how hard it got for him, he was gonna come back firing. His fights with with Limon and Boza-Edwards are the stuff of legend. He was Gatti before Gatti, only more exciting. It was as if he couldn't be in a bad fight. 3. Alexis Arguello - I like him for many of the same reasons I like Sanchez; skilled, professional, gentlemanly, and a tutorial in the finer points of the game. Proof that you could be a gentleman outside the ring and a stone-cold killer inside it.
Right Now. 1. Oscar De La Hoya 2. Miguel Cotto/Antonio Margarito 3. Kelly Pavlik All-time. 1. Julio Cesar Chavez 2. Mike Tyson 3. Marvin Hagler/Thomas Hearns
Joe Calzaghe: Brilliant performances like the wins over Lacy and Kessler. Coming back from adversity in the Mitchell and Hopkins fights. He never disappoints me. Cristian Mijares: Great displays of boxing skills and natural reflexes, such as the Navarro, Arce and Munoz fights. He never disappoints either. Kelly Pavlik: Showed ability to overcome adversity in fights with Zuniga and Taylor I, coming back from being knocked down to win by KO. Showed courage in walking Miranda down, and eventually knocking him out. Showed good boxing skills, fitness and stamina by winning the last two rounds in Taylor II, in a fight I had scored five rounds each after 10.
