Eusebio Pedroza. One of the best 15 round fighters I´ve ever seen. Loved the way he made fighters miss, bust them up with uppercuts, body punches (and low blows!) and took control over the last 5 rounds. Classy boxer. This content is protected
Ricardo "Maestrito" Cordoba for me. Very underrated fighter. Bested Pelenchin Caballero not too long before Caballero beat unbeaten Daniel Ponce De Leon in United States. Soon after was robbed in Thailand against Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym for an interim title. Thankfully it did not stall his career for long, since He got his shot at full version of the WBA title against Sydorenko anyway - and fought him twice to a draw, in Germany. He then had two title opportunities at Super Bantamweight. He lost to Bernard Dunne in Ireland in a classic - spectacular fight which I'd put above any of the three Marquez vs Vazquez fights from around the same time and in the same weight class. Cordoba looked like a better man for most of the fight, but Dunne dug deep in front of hometown crowd and pulled out unlikely victory. His final title fight came in United States against Guillermo Rigondeaux, I believe on the undercard of one of the Manny Pacquiao fights. Cordoba dropped Rigo early on with a jab, was the aggressor throughout and I remember quite a few people thinking that He won. I thought Rigo won it fairly, but nonetheless - Cordoba showed himself as a world class fighter and it was unfortunete that He retired soon after. I think He was 28 or something like that - and still had plenty to offer.
I liked Pedroza, but I would have liked to have seen him fight Salvador Sanchez for the undisputed championship. That would have been a dream fight.
Duran for sure--P4P one of the greatest to ever step in a ring during his prime. (His performance against SRL in their 1980 Montreal bout is one of the all-time greatest performances of any fighter in boxing history!!)
