Gatti- Ward 1. I know its the most obvious choice, but for sheer, utter brutality it is hard to beat. A great fight and I remember HBO's commentary team that night being great too adding to the drama. Still a fight I can put in on DVD when I have friends over and even if they have never heard of either guy they are immedially enthralled by the action.
The Ruelas fight. I know, Gatti-Ward is better, but the Ruelas fight was the first time I saw Gatti fight. I couldnt believe my eyes, it was a back and forth uppercut fight from the start. They looked like characters from a boxing video game, it was ridiculous. They were human roc'em sock'em robots. :jjj I followed his fights from then on. :nod
I chose The Gabe Ruelas one on the undercard of Lewis-Golota in AC but I also liked Gatti coming off the Ruelas victory and taking on one of my favourites Angel "El Diablo" Manfredi at 135 lbs when one was WBO jr Lightweight champ and the other IBF jr Lightweight titlist, Gatti was floored in the 3rd, cut very bad as usual and fought back hard until the 7th...
