Duran (Montreal Version) vs Robinson I lean toward Duran, but only in a very close decision, maybe even controversial. If Robbie tries to dance and box, he would get tired and lose a close fight. If he fought, Robbie might win in a close fight. IMO this is the hardest fight in Sugar Ray's welterweight career if he won the fight. I lean toward Duran, although i'm in the minority, but I would not be surprised at ALL if the Sugar Man won the fight.
I suppose it must be Sugar Ray Leonard. I give it to Robinson by a slim yet convincing decision. The original Sugar's superior power clinches it.
Mickey Walker, elusive enough on the outside to keep it close, gives plenty of angles inside and can match Robinson flurry for flurry...and he's got SRR's poison in that slashing left hook. It's close, and Walker may even trail slightly after twelve rounds, but he sweeps the last three and has Robinson hanging on at the end.
Kostya Tszyu was one reason I started really watching boxing. He isn't a welterweight but fought at 140 his entire career. Assuming he could bulk up and carry his power, I believe his skills would keep him in the fight for a few rounds. He fought 300 plus amateur fights and has the power to keep srr honest, at least for the initial phase of the fight. After realising his power had little effect on slowing SRR he would either go out all guns blazing and KOed get in the mid rounds, or try to last, in which case he would probably just get KOed a round or so later. The power and chin SRR brought to the table are just too much for this methodical, experienced and quite powerful champ.
robinson was better than leonard in every ****ing department... i think that he had even bigger dick..
I told SRL he reminded me most--specially his combos--of SRR. Leonard said, "Thank you. I've studied all his films and tried to copy him"
