i have a feeling that this is going to go down like terry norris/ray leonard. and im a huge b-hop fan.
i want dawson to win and i think he will win . hes got skills power is legit when he decides to throw hes young good stamina. b hop great fighter but i dont really like the dirty tactics but hes an atg a legend but i wanna see him retire .
It's bound to happen one of these days. He's fading fast and I think a bad loss is the only way he'll retire.
I feel that anyone who says hopkins will be dominated is delusional. he's never been dominated in his career and none of his recent fights have lead me to believe he will against dawson. their last fight is a non factor, it was a round and a half and no one can determine anything from that fight. I'm not saying dawson cant beat bernard hopkins, because he has the outside game, youth and athletic ability to do it, but his lack of ferocity and sheer desire to coast rather than infict consistent hurt is a serious problem. Hopkins is THE one fighter that WILL capitalize on mental inefficiency of that nature. If Dawson comes to win, IMPRESSIVELY, he can win. If he's the same fighter who showed up to float through the Pascal fight, the same guy Hopkins was robbed against once and beat decisively in the rematch, then Hopkins will undoubtedly win, barring a robbery.
My thoughts are that it's great that this rematch was done, and I think Hopkins is going to punish Dawson even worse this time. Dawson is going to make it very difficult for Hopkins and I wouldn't be surprised to see an early lead carry Dawson to a close decision either way, but I believe as long as Hopkins doesn't finally lose his touch (which I don't think he will), the second half of the fight is going to look like the Tarver fight.
i'm not paying for it but there's definately unfinished business. hoping dawson wins and maybe fights bute or ward. froch would be good too.
Hopkins will try to KO him and when Dawson is going to get Ko'ed he will slam Hopkins again. Hopkins wins by disqualification.
Dawson is going to out box Hopkins, maybe score a late round stoppage. Unless like in the first fight Hoplkins finds an out.
My feelings are that it is the best fight to be made at light heavy. I want to see it. And just like last time I think Dawson will win it.
Hopkins is on the decline. Dawson was clearly a bad style matchup physically. The only question marks where mentally related, which some presumed Hops could take advantage of. The earliest minutes of the first fight indicated that Dawson was physically a poor style matchup for Hops. I can't see Hopkins winning. He's faded, and he doesn't have the coordination and handspeed to be anything more effective than a 1-2 puncher. Dawson has too much speed, activity, and hunger at this point. It's the Taylor fight but much worse, Hopkins has aged quite a bit.
I think BHop made a mistake by taking this fight. Dawson was stalking Hopkins. Not by exerting a lot of energy but by just keeping his lead foot in front of Hopkins. So Hopkins had to keep moving ala Calzaghe. That's what i expect again. Hopkins will move and move and try to run in once on a while and clinch. It's going to be tough for Hopkins to get past Dawson's defense because he's technically sound. But having said that i'll be rooting hard for Bhop.
It's an unfortunate necessity - hopkins is the best lhw in the world and dawson is the top contender to his throne. Despite it being such a terrible style clash, we should absolutely encourage the top two in the division to face each other. I'd like to see cloud and pascal face off with the winners facing each other.
Hopkins UD's him and in the process lots of bandwagoners show up (again) and half the people currently posting about Hopkins suddenly stop posting about Hopkins.
