Try and give your predictions as accurate as possible for these fights, ie if you think a KO which round, or if the fights go to points, what you think the scores will be. Lets see who does best out of us.

    I think

Pavlik vs Martinez - Pavlik by TKO in round 9.
I think Martinez will make Pavlik chase him around a bit, but not be winning many rounds and Pavlik will be gradually having more of an effect on Martinez. Martinez gets trapped in round 9 forcing the ref to step in whilst hes taking some solid shots without reply.

Bute vs Miranda - Bute by KO round 6.
Bute keeps on the move, whilst landing, wins all the rounds and lands the KO shots whilst Miranda is hurt.
Miranda hasnt won any of the big fights, he lost a decision to AA whilst having many points deducted, got KOd by Pavlik, KOd by AA in a rematch and lost on points to Ward.

Froch vs Kessler - Froch by close contraversial MD
Scores of 114-114 and 115-113 and 116-112 Froch
Kessler starts well landing combinations on Froch, stunning Froch on a few occassions, some of the rounds are close but look favourable to Kessler. Sometime around round 8 Froch starts to come into the fight a bit stronger landing hard thudding shots. Kessler stops throwing as much as the fight continues and Froch starts pressuring to finish the rest of the fight strongly. Froch looks a winner but alot of the early rounds belonged to Kessler. Close fight.

    What you think

You laid out a reasonable scenario for each fight. I think Kessler stops Froch late, but I would not bet a penny on that.

Pavlik-Martinez Martinez will give Pavlik trouble early with movement and better foot/hand speed. But the bigger and stronger Pavlik should be able to wear him down as the fight goes on. I lean towards a late stoppage for Pavlik but it wouldn't be surprising if he wins a close decision as well. Pavlik by late ko.

Bute-Miranda Bute is too well rounded of a fighter for Miranda. I think Miranda can change or win the fight with his power but I don't think Bute lets him. Miranda has his moments but not enough. Bute by decision.

Froch-Kessler I think this is one of the best fights that can be made in boxing from an action and styles perspective. Its tough to call especially since Kessler's career is going more south while Froch's has been heating up. If Kessler it on his game he wins, and I think this is a do or die scenario for him so he'll be on. Kessler by decision.

Three good fights where anyone can win. Even Miranda who will be the biggest underdog of the three is a solid and dangerous guy who has a chance. The whole 160-168 pound landscape could be altered by the end of next weekend.

    Pavlik KO/TKO round 8
Miranda finishes on his feet. He showed better defense against Ward and Goosen probably has worked on that as well. I expect him to stay disciplined this time out. Miranda only has not look bad this time out to keep himself in the mix. If you include JT you have 6 'losers' from the tourney all looking to get back on track that will need opponents. There will be some match ups that didn't happen that can still be made, but I don't think they go on fighting each other that much.

No matter which side you're on all three fights should answer some looming questions.

Can Martinez really handle a true middleweight?

Will people shut the **** about about the 1-2, and finally realize that KP is a very good boxer?

Has Miranda really improved under Goosen?

Is Bute's chin as good as many other aspects of his game?

If Kessler really as shot to **** as he looked in his last fight?

Can Kessler handle an ugly and awkward style?

    Is Froch's chin over rated?

In just a couple days we'll get the answers to several of those questions.
