Your first boxing memory

same! i saw a highlight on the news and the cameras following frank bruno at the airport when he got back to the uk.

1985, Barry Mcguigan winning the World Title in Loftus Road.
I was in bed (I was only 5!), and my dad came up and woke me. Went downstairs and watched it with him. The next day, I cut out all the pictures from the newspaper and stuck them up on my bedroom door! They stayed there for years!!

 

My first Boxing memory was the De La Hoya-Trinidad fight. I remember watching it when I was like 7 or 8 and just taking it all in. There was a huge party and everything and that was when I knew I wanted to be a Boxer and I want to be the greatest of all time in whatever division I decide to fight in.

 

I always figured they'd bring those commercials back one day except with Lennox Lewis in Hagler's place. Surprised noone else thought of that.

And my first boxing memory was actually watching two fighters on HBO who I can't remember to this day slugging it out in 1993...I thought it was a nice fight but then thought nothing of it. I didn't become a real fan until Tyson removed Frank Bruno's heart in their rematch.

 

My first memory was the Riddick Bowe-Holyfield fight. Not so much the fight itselft, but afterwards when Bowe and Lenox Lewis exchanged words. I remember thinking Bowe was such a beast but Lewis was telling him he was going to knock him out..

Clay beating Liston. I told my dad that there was no way that big guy will lose. My first prediction down the tubes.

 

Probably Ali's first fight with Frazier. It's hazy though, I was just a kid.

First real clear one was when Foreman beat him.

 

HA! I was 7 years old, and told everyone Clay would knock Liston out!

My older brother was alwys lifting weights , jumping rope, and punching bags. He loved Ali.


Going to school and having kids ask me who would win between Ali and Frazier.

Either accidentally coming across as a VHS taped version of Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield 1 or seeing the advertisements for Hamed vs Barrera on Sky Box Office. That would have been 2001, so I was 12 years old.
