It’s a really weird sensation when someone catches you clean on the head. My body is somewhat used of it now and I don’t react as much but the first time I got hit I was almost sick and had to sit down for a while. (I’m taking about the sort of shot that rattles your brain not just a punch to the face.)

Never really had my legs wobbly yet, but there was a nasty left hook on the jaw that I can still feel vividly.

First hit that really rattled me was actually when I was in 5th or 6th grade and my mom got me with a doozie of a hit right to my face lol.

Second hit that got me good was in a backyard boxing match at some party. I won but there was a hit in there that when it landed I saw stars and got deja vu lol. It was an odd feeling... I got hit and it was like time slowed way down and I was talking to myself and commenting on the deja vu.

Third time I got rattled sucked. Was a different backyard boxing match and I stupidly got hit with a big wind up punch and it caught me right on the very top of my head. I got these black globs in my vision... like a black lava lamp... and again I went back to boxing and won the match. From the outside you couldn't tell the punch effected me.

But on the drive home I felt super weird. The next day in school I felt weird... off. I would see stars occasionally that day. I feel like that punch really screwed me up for a few years actually. One thing I noticed was that my ability to stay oriented during motion events was completely gone... the littlest things like swinging on a swing, or doing go carts, could make me want to throw up.

Although I've been a decent amount over the years those are the 3 times off the top of my head that I 'felt' the hits.

It's very interesting. I've gotten that nauseated sensation too (not for a long time) from punches and a helmet to helmet collision in football and I was either awake the whole time or woken up by hitting the ground.

But when I was fully KO'd by a baseball and a sledding accident it was very different.

It was clean, like someone found the off switch, and I woke up feeling relaxed.

I haven’t really felt anything yet honestly. I register I’ve been hit and I can differentiate from hard and not hard but apart from that-nothing. It is a different feeling as you’d know but I think it has everything to do with my chin being tucked.

Never felt unwell from a shot and that’s possibly concerning Austin. I haven’t been rocked yet- wobbled from being off balance but that’s it. so far anyways.

Maybe reevaluate your defence brother but don’t fret like you said there is a good chance you were just new and your body overreacted.

Headaches can also just be from the head gear being too tight or your neck and traps getting stiff from the shots so I’ve been told and read multiple times. Stay hydrated too- drink more water then you want to. stretch your upper back/neck region.

Old poster and boxing genius @scrap used to advocate for the tennis ball under the chin- Bernard Hopkins used to do it too. Get after it and Ezzard Charles guide your way.

Your posts are so bland and pointless- what were you trying to accomplish by telling everyone that?

I don’t feel it so much now. However every now and again I get ratted and then the nausea comes back. I’m gonna work on my defence a lot more and hopefully my body will get used of it and I’ll stop feeling it.

You’d be surprised how much the tennis will make a difference. Cus believed tucking your chin was the only difference and talked about Briscoe’s durability just being a matter of faithfulness to keeping his chin tucked- you ever see LaMotta consistently take flush shots?
