I am over it. I'm satisfied Dirrell landed 90% of the good punches in the fight. He lost because he held and Froch looked tough despite not landing anything (except for a few flicking jabs, a left hook in the 8th, and blows to the side of Dirrell's head in the clinch). While being over it, I am still always happy to correct the record.
Direll was doing laps round the ring and then only stopped to cry and ***** to the referee... no way he desrved to leave nottingham a chmpion!!
How is this relevant to discuss? It was a very close "fight", you shouldn't have a problem with the result, cause Dirrell didn't bring his best and he was so nervoud it ruined the bout. No winner in this one IMO, though if I had to score it I would have given it to Dirrell by the smallest of margins, not that he deserved the belt though.
This - You dont take a mans title by motoring around the ring rather than engaging and continously moaning to the ref all the time .
WTF does that have to do with anything? Be bitter if you must but don't be racist for the sake of it. Anyway, presumably since you think Dirrell won then that crowd helped Froch get the win?
I'm Irish so can hardly be accused of being biased here. Dirrell was too negative even though it was very tight. If they fought again and Direll got himself straighted out and mentally focused and heavily motivated...meh.....too many if's
Even tough I'm a Froch fan, I tough Dirrell won. It wasn't even that close to be honest. Dirrell clearly won this fight. Here's my scorecard: Froch Dirrell 9 10 9 10 9 10 Froch: one good punch wasn't enough to give him the round 9 10 9 10 10 9 10 9 9 10 Dirty round but Dirrell did enough to win this round 10 9 Very close round gave it to Froch 9 9 Point deduction for Dirrell 9 10 9 10 111 116
I cant remember now, it was a while ago but i think i had Dirrell by 2 or 3 rounds. I think Froch was schooled in the early rounds until Dirrell changed what he was doing but that early work was enough for him to score higher on the cards. what exactly does white trash mean? I dont even understand that phrase.
Not being racist at all so don't make it a race issue. Look at the audience, it was full of chavvy council estate types making 'wanker' hand gestures at Dirrell everytime the referee broke them up. Every time Froch threw (and missed) a punch they went beserk and made a load of noise over nothing. No racism over here buddy, just a stinky fight with a hometown decision in favour of a dirty fighter. Incidently, Dirrell fought MUCH better against Abraham and I have no doubt that if he fought like that again against Froch, it would be fairly lop sided.
114-113 Froch, 6 rounds apiece with the point deduction making the difference. Dirrell is infuriating to watch, he is perhaps the most physically gifted boxer in the game but he lacks a fighters mentality and seems terrified of getting hit. The OP mentioned Froch fighting dirty - what about Dirrell's constant holding, ducking below the waist, turning his back (the reason for Carl's rabbit punching) and his speciality of miraculously 'slipping' every time Froch tried to fight out of a clinch?
