I had prescott up by one point 114-113 prescott was robbed of a close but clear decision win via hometown pick-pocketting.

Just re-watched the fight without sound. I found my card was slightly different without sound as the commentary seemed very biased towards the end of the fight in favour of McCloskey when I watched LIVE on Saturday night.

10-8 Round 1 (Prescott) - Clear round for Prescott. Works the jab and lands numerous right hands on McCloskey.
10-9 Round 2 (Prescott) - Clear round for Prescott. Lands a big right and cuts McCloskey. McCloskey seems a little dazzled by the right hands of Prsecott.
10-9 Round 3 (Prescott) - A closer round but Prescott lands the more noticable shots. McCloskey is eating jabs in this round.
10-9 Round 4 (McCloskey) - Clear round for McCloskey.
10-9 Round 5 (Prescott) - Not much in this round. Both trade jabs but Prescott landing the better shots.
10-9 Round 6 (Prescott) - Clear Prescott round. McCloskey gets caught by a huge right hand, appears to be shook but doesn't show he's hurt. McCloskey cant get out of the way of the right hands of Prescott
10-9 Round 7 (Prescott) - Clear round for Prescott. Prescott is getting to McCloskey now and picking him off with jabs, right hands.
10-9 Round 8 (Prescott) - Clear round for Prescott. McCloskey is struggling to gain control as Prescott continues to land right hands.
10-9 Round 9 (McCloskey) - Close round but I'll give McCloskey this round due to workrate.
10-9 Round 10 (McCloskey) - Clear round for McCloskey. McCloskey beginning to find the target and land of his own shots.
10-9 Round 11 (Prescott) - A difficult round to score but Prescott landed the better shots and threw more.
10-9 Round 12 (McCloskey) - A difficult round to score. Both trading shots and both appear to be exhausted. McCloskey is on shakey legs at the end of the round.

116 - 111 in favour of Prescott (112 without the KD)

I found it hard to give rounds to McCloskey, the McCloskey rounds were close but never as clear as the Prescott rounds.. The Prescott rounds were clear as day for me and he won a fair few clear rounds for me where as McCloskey was struggling for clear cut rounds.

To be fair, how the judges ever had McCloskey winning this fight is beyond me. The crowd either influenced them or it was another crook decision in favour of the hometown fighter.

Maybe a draw wouldn't have been so bad but still I find that hard to give to McCloskey. Prescott (IMO) was just better on the night and landed the more hurtful, noticeable shots. I was impressed with the jab of Prescott, McCloskey was picked off all night by the jab it appears.

And before I get slated by McCloskey fans, I had £100 on McCloskey by decision. I feel I was fortunate to have won money. I have no problem robbing the bookies of their money, but I have issues with robbing a rightful fighter of a deserved victory.

Im stretching it and being bias in favour of paul and giving him the benefit of the doubt in Rd 12 and still cant credit him for a win, so I consider this a hometown robbery. It was pretty clear cut who was winning rounds. 2 of the judges had paul up by 2 points I consider this a robbery. even in my bias scorecards I still had paul losing. God knows what the judges were creditting paul with to win these rounds, maybe crowd noise.

I consider this fight a robbery. Just my opinion

    Should of gone to specsavers.

I think 116-112 is a little unfair on McCloskey. I totally understand a 114-112 card (with the KD) for Prescott - it was a close fight. I do think Prescott won, but it wasn't like he was miles ahead. It's just that the rounds he won clearly were very clear.

Yer this was exactly my point, The rounds were night and day, and although I had it close, it should of been a clear cut but close victory for Prescott.

I consider it a hometown Pickpocketting, shame really.

Not a robbery but blatant bent decision.

I'm not sure that's true. I can see why some judges would score rounds for McCloskey – he was being aggressive and he did have Prescott backing up at times. You also need to give Paul credit for good bodywork that was hurting the Colombian.

I can also see a clear argument that McCloskey won five of the last six, and that he could have edged two of the first six. The issue comes about that knock down. I don’t agree with a judge ignoring it because the ref called it a KD incorrectly, but considering Prescott was winning the round until that point I think he got the 10-9 legitimately anyway.

Was he “pick-pocketed”? No, he was just unlucky that close rounds tend to go to the home fighter. If he’d been done more work in the second half of the fight he could have won, but he got tired and McCloskey was smart enough to take advantage.

    From my live RBR thread:

    Prescott: 1, 2 (+kd), 5-7
McCloskey: 3, 4, 8-12 (last three all very close)

Scored it exactly the same way as above 114-113 mccloskey. Have watched it twice, once with no sound. Same score each time. Although i can understand people having it 115-112 prescott.
