Mike Tyson was better than currently given credit for in the Holyfield fights, but Holyfield was juiced to the eyeballs and therefore does not deserve full credit.

Weird that it's considered a fringe hipster view and not common sense, but... Margarito posed no problems to Mayweather, and would've been cleanly shut out with no drama. :nusenuse:

Boxing doesn't necessary contain the most effective punchers. Martial arts like kyokushin karate teach you to punch with incredible power and precision to a degree you rarely see in boxing. A fighter like Francisco Filho was capable of knocking out an opponent with little more than a tap, and did so against a variety of opponents of diverse styles. Semmy Schilt was another karateka with incredible punching power, and possessed one of the hardest jabs of any combat athlete in history (though his size to a large degree accounted for that).

Not sure if those are hipster opinions but I don't see them going down too well in the boxing/MMA community.

Beat me to it! Was hesitant on posting it since I wasn't sure which group it belonged to. But yeah, although Margarito had a granite chin, I think Mayweather would've boxed his ears off to an easy UD...

    Does make sense.
Punching power is all about weight transference. Something martial arts empathize a lot.

Agreed that's always been my opinion too. I would say the same thing with Kessler when he was still close to his best but i'm certainly not unbiased.
