...well, we've got a bit of a break now. There have been quite a few threads recently about whether this year has been a bad or good or transition year. But after the break, what would you like to see happen next 'season'... My ideal 2010/11... THE BIGGEST TWO FIGHTS FINALLY HAPPEN Floyd and Pac finally stop issuing diva like demands and just get on with it. Floyd schools Pacquiao wide UD after 12. Just to stop Rob Palmer from moaning, David Haye signs to fight Wladimir and knocks him out Corrie Sanders style. FIREWORKS... Gamboa vs Juanma, probably won't last long but who'd miss it while it does! I think Gamboa has the edge on speed, they both have the power but I'm going to go for Gamboa to beat his rival to the punch. Cotto v Margo 2...I'd love to see one of the true warriors of the last 5 years get his revenge over the cheating Mexican... DOMESTIC FIGHTS Loads I'd love to see, but above all - Smith vs Degale or Groves (Groves and Degale fight won't get made next year imo). Lots of talk about Smith ducking people at the minute, bollocks in my opinion. Fascinating fight either of these if they get made. - Fury vs Chisora or Sexton - Frankie Gavin to win the British title against Lenny Daws - I don't know if this will happen in 12 months, but Bellew to knock out that bandana wearing goon from Wales STEP IT UP - Amir Khan to fight a genuine 140 titleist like Bradley and then we'll see how good he is. Leave the lightweights alone Amir, remember you moved up... - John Murray - leave Fat Mick, get some fights, fulfill your potential - Maloney's heavyweight crew, particularly David Price, to fight something other than tomato cans. - Tony Jeffries - stop kidding yourself, get a proper trainer, leave Sunderland and show us what you can do. And get off facebook Oh, and if it's not too much to ask, having boxing back on BBC wouldn't go amiss!! What do you want to happen in boxing in 2010/11???
I would love all of this but.... only Fury vs Chisora/Sexton, Gavin vs Daws are realistic for this year..... this will cheer you up though. Murrays contract with hennesey is up in october, so he will probs go to hatton....hopefully warren. most of 2010 is set up and theres some great stuff like magnificent 7, super six final group stage, number 1 vs number 2 at light heavy, middleweight/light middle, light fly. realistic wishes for 2010 would be Haye vs Adameck at the 02 Enzo gets invited to the CW Super Six which gets on Sky Cleverly gets a shot at Braehmer in Wales Bellew steps up to Euro level Smith vacates the british and the young SMW push for the title Froch vs Kessler 2 Williams vs Martinez gets confirmed we see more off Pirog Macklin/Barker winner fights Andy Lee or someone world class Rhodes get an eliminator for the IBF Floyd Mayweather signed with Don King Bradley vs Alexander gets confirmed Katsidis gets a big fight Mitchell comes back Murray gets an eliminator One of John/Gamboa/Caballero/Juanma fight eachother We seem some unifications at Bantamweight
I hope that the move to Saturday night boxing on Sky is not deluge of PPVs. The return of Ringside is excellent news but I cant help thinking it is only to help sell these PPVs. - Boycott Pac and Mayweather fights unless they are fighting one another. I am already disgusted at reading how Pac-Marg is 'a solid fight' by the editor of the trade mag. No its not. It still wont be competitive even if it was made at Super middleweight. Margo is out of the ring nearly two years and he got smashed the **** up by Mosley in his last appearance against a top opponent - it is a disgrace that he is being offered the chance to fight Pac. He shouldnt be allowed back after his disgusting cheating. - An ending to the apathy of writers and boxing fans to the lack of proper matchmaking. We are all paying through our nose for boxing with Sky subs and PPVs - there is no excuses for the lack of matchmaking. These greedy ****ing ******* promoters are getting money for old rope. So, stop paying for the **** and stop cheerleading mediocracy. - Degale v Groves - Cleverly v Bellew And my wet dream fight: Choi v Escalante
I hope that Munroe gives Nishioka a fight, Burns beats Martinez, and I especially hope Booth can pull it off against Molitor. I also hope that Sykes can fight Crolla again, Morris again and Johanneson this season
I really just hope the Magnificent 7 show comes off with minimal pull-outs. More meaningful fights on that card then we probably had all last season. And as Kosaros said, Munroe doing well, although I will go one better and say I hope he brings the title home :good
Simpson to beat Smith and maybe people start patting him on the back for once. Burns to beat Martinez. Kenny Anderson to return in some meaningful form. Kris Hughes to beat Marsh and show the ability he has. Alex Arthur to put up or shut up. Limomd to shock the world (well a wee part of it) and beat Morales. Santino Caruana to keep making progress and banging away at the opponent's bodies. Appleby to return and show us all what we've been missing. Barry Morrison to keep fighting Martin Lindsay to return PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE. Pascal to beat Dawson The Super Six to keep doing what it's doing Froch to smoke Abraham's boots. Pac v Margarito to be entertaining To be woken up from the nightmare that is Mosley v Mora Munroe and Booth to win Bellew to keep bombing (hope the feds aint reading this) The Magnificent 7 to be a Magnificent success GBP to keep putting on great undercards Top Rank to let their big names fight other promoted fighters JuanMa v Rafa to be on UK telly David Haye to fight Adamek as a Christmas present to us all and to do a press conference setting the record straight on everything Klit related. You're being bullied at the moment Haye... step up! Hatton to keep drinking pints and not put on his gloves Khan to shusht The LWW's to prove why it is the best division Enzo to fight Huck at Christmas Floyd to return Miguel Cotto to pummel JCC Jnr Williams v Martinez 2 Agbeko to get another world title shot Brinkley to beat Bute (it wont happen but I don't get the whole Bute love-in) Saturday night boxing to be a great success The middleweights to keep rolling along and getting better and better JMM to pick who he wants to fight Gamboa to keep winning and to certainly beat up Salido (cheating ****) Chris John to return Hopkins to retire
i dont think the idea of thise is to wish for actual fight results.... when was the great gbp undercard???
can tell you now, macrineli will shy from his oponent, i can,t just think of his name, but he,s very good and enzo would lose his title, he'll go for a easier option, nearer the time. you heard it hear first.:good
Frenkel.......I doubt Macca will pull out. Say what you will about him but he hasn't been one to shy away from a challenge, even when his confidence has been shot. :good
Rob stop being an arse the TS never said anything about not wanting results. He asked for hopes for the season and those are my hopes for the season. And whether you like it or not in 21st century boxing that was a great card on Sat night. That was one of the best you can hope for these days. Don't hark back to the good old days with King's cards. Live in the now. 21st century boxing shafts you up the arse but now and again you get some cream ala Sat night. Lighten the **** up.
