What are yours? Here are some of mine, a couple of which pain me to make: 1. Wladimir Klitschko will have one of his best years, with a brutal destruction of Povetkin, a wide UD over Fury and a 3rd win. 2. David Haye and Vitali Klitschko will finally fight in an affair that is painstakingly boring, that is, until the score cards are read, when Michael Buffer shocks most of the viewers and media by announcing a controversial split decision win for David, who in the eyes of two judges, did enough to pot-shot his way to a win over a slower Vitali, who pursued him for 12 rounds. 3. Pulev’s, Wilder’s, Glazkov’s and Price’s 0s will remain intact and they will constitute the solid core of a revitalised Top 10, which also will include an increasingly popular Charr, a rejuvenated Solis and, yes, David Haye, Jose Sulaiman's new champion. 4. Helenius, Pianeta, Jennings and Boystov will lose their 0s. 5. Derek Chisora will finish 2103 at 16-6, having gone 1-2 and will be on path to become this decade’s Julius Francis. 6. Mansour will win as many times as he fights, but unfortunately might not finish 2013 “on the outside”.
All I hope for is Vitali Klitschko retiring. He is totally shot now and the last thing I want to see is some bum getting lucky and beating up an old man.
wlad will ko povetkin, pulev and arreola or mitchell (mitchell will ko banks and then take a 0 of an european guy, boytsov). price, fury and wilder will stay unbeaten haye will ko vitali!!!
I predict I will continue to not care one iota for most fighters in this division, including the 2 Klitschko brothers. It has become a stale and boring division of boxing with the 2 top guys being the most boring of all. Watching a Klitschko fight is about as interesting as watching paint dry or grass grow. Throw in the fact many of the fighters they face are grossly overweight and this makes for one of the worst eras in the HW division. I'll stick to watching Middleweights on down.
Agree on Price vs. Fury, Helenius and Adamek. I expect Adamek to get beaten badly. I just expect David and VK to finally fight...too much money would be left on the table otherwise. Don't think it'll be a high-quality-fight though.
A few of the heavyweight prospects continue to shine and turn into serious contenders, namely Price, Glazkov, Wilder, and Jennings. Vitali will retire after one more fight (not against Haye), and Wlad will take the 0 from Pulev and Fury. The top prospects listed above won't get their shots at the title until at least 2014.
- Fury wont last the distance. - Vitaly is too determined, he will KO Haye and that shall not be boring - No way Charr will enter top 10, Haye could still be top 10 because he will not fight Vitaly nether anybody else who is top 10, most probably he will not fight at all ... if he fights Vitaly he won't be top 10 anymore Solis wont be revitalized anytime soon - Boytsov will never put his 0 on the stake, he will end with better record than Floyd, never being contender and still having better resume.
More former Cricket players will make the transition to boxing and take the HW division by storm. With Vitaly retiring after his next bout, leaving the WBC belt vacant and Povetkin (WBA "regular" giveaway belt) finally collecting his beating from the other Klitschko brother, there will be 2 trinkets ready to be picked up by a former Cricket star and Britain's glory days in the division will return. :deal
My guy to watch is Mago, looking forward to where he goes next. Not many are going to want to fight him. Wilder will hopefully step up, I'd like to see Price, Wilder, Jennings, Fury, all these guys should fight each other. Wlad to KO Povetkin and Pulev in decently exciting fights. Haye to talk big and get Vitali fight. Vitali to either KO him or win dull UD.
Price will beat Thompson but lose to Chisora. Wladimir will outpoint Povetkin but get hurt in doing so. Vitali will retire. Haye will follow suit. Wilder will not be stepped up, if he were to be he would be beaten.
