    As a hypothetical exercise ...

Who is likely to be in the HW top 10 in around 20 months from now?

    1. Alexander Povetkin IBF Champ (I am going to call the upset)

    2. Vladimir Virchis WBC Champ (Because Vitaly is not serious about fighting and Juan Carlos Gomez is innactive, Virchis gets shot unoppossed and knocks Peter out)

    3. Nikoli Valuev WBA Champ (hate to say it, but Chag does not look serious lately)

    4. Sultan Ibrigamov WBO Champ (Povetkin abandons belt, Sultan beats Dimintrenko in eliminator)

    5. Sam Peter (rebounds after loss with a couple of shitty wins)

    6. Wlad Klitschko (after his loss, has a long lay off in which he has to decide weather or not he really likes boxing. Comes back and climes off of the canvas to outjab Oliver McCall.)

    7. Juan Carlos Gomez (Still has not had a significant fight despite being #2 contender for almost three years)

    8. Olander Solis (Has fought about 50 times in the next year and a half, but got a surprise loss when his weight ballooned to 275. Back on track and getting down to business at a lighter weight).

    9. Chagaev (One fight into his comeback after long layoff paralelling Klits. Beats Luan Krasiniqi or Timor Ibrigimov).

    10. Alexander Dimenkrenko (Just happy to be here).

POST SCRIPT: Please not note that by this time Johnny Ruiz has been permanently banned from boxing for his excessive displays of affection after a highly organized boycott campaign by the fans against the alphabet soup gangs.

A bunch of eastern Europeans taking turns getting their ass kicked by David Haye. That's your top 10 in 2010.

    1 Wladimir Klitschko (WBO-champ)
2 Alexander Povetkin (IBF-champ. Wins the vacated title after Klitschko drops it in a garbage can)
3 Juan Carlos Gomez (WBC-champ. He finally get his act together and outboxes Virchis and Peter)
4 Ruslan Chagaev (WBA-champ. Doesn't impress anyone and almost lost to Bidenko)
5 David Haye (Chagaevs next challenger)
    6 Odlanier Solis (Still undefeated)
    7 Samuel Peter
    8 Sultan Ibragimov
9 Eddie Chambers (The Jimmy Young of the 00:s)
10 Evans Quinn (Found not guilty for the charges against him and is taken in as an opponent for Chris Arreola. Quinn outboxes and stops him in a huge upset. A couple of other notable wins gets him in the top10)
