Your least favorite commentator of all time?

    Irritating voice and adds absolutely nothing in terms of insight which is what a commentator should do, instead Jim often tells us which punches are being thrown, yeah Jim it's television we can see what's happening ! Also routinely calls punches which are blocked or missed as landed especially if it's an HBO contract fighter, remember him doing it a lot during ODLH's fights with Whitaker and Floyd, Oscar would throw a 6 or 7 punch flurry, land none and Lampley tell us they all landed. Terrible.

    I always disliked Harry Carpenter as a commentator but was watching Saldivar-Winstone 2 the other day and he seemed a lot better than I remembered. Or maybe he just got worse over time.

    He had to re-do his Ali v Foreman commentary,"Ali is so tired he can hardly hold up his hands," bang, right hand lands Foreman is down!"

    Bob Sheridan.
    Sean O Grady
    George Foreman
    Marv Albert
    I couldnt stand any of these announcers .. Some older bouts i have i dont watch because they ruin the fight- unless i turn the volume down.

    My favorites: Gil Clancy was the best and you always learned something.
    Al Bernstien My second favorite. I thought he and Barry Tompkins made a great team.
    Larry Merchant- i actually thought when he was in his prime he was great .
    Ray Leonard/Roy Jones- feel they are underrated.

    And for me. Hard on both ear and eye and really brought nothing but the blindingly obvious to the table.

    And those teeth! I would have loved to have kicked them down his throat.

    I'm tempted to say Skip Bayless, but he's a deliberately invidious troll who very, very obviously doesn't mean a damn thing he says. He's not even a skilled actor, which makes him somehow even more infuriating.
