I'm curious, George, and please forgive me if I have mistaken you with another poster, I think I recall you once disagreeing with me ranking Pascual Perez #3 all time at Fly, on the basis that he dominated a weak era & that others had superior win resumes in that division. If I've remembered correctly, then I assume by "the four horseman at 175lbs", you mean the 4 you consider the best based on film you've seen, and not the 4 you rate the highest based on their respective LHW win resumes? If we compare the win resume, of fights contested at LHW, of Foster & Greb, for example: Foster - Dick Tiger, Chris Finnegan, Henry Hank x 2, Eddie Cotton, Pierre Foure x 2, Mike Quarry, Vicente Rondon, Mark Tessman & Hal Carroll Greb - Gene Tunney, Tommy Loughran x 4, Tommy Gibbons, Jack Dillon x 2, Maxie Rosenbloom, Battling Levinksy x 6, Jimmy Delaney x 3, Tiger Flowers, Kid Norfolk, Al McCoy, Clay Turner x 4, Jeff Smith, Lou Bogash & Gus Christie Then I'd have thought someone who disagreed so strongly with Perez ranking #3 at Fly on account of him dominating a weak era & there being others with deeper win resumes, would have Greb, as well as Tunney, JHL, Loughran, Bivins & even Harold Johnson above Foster (of these, I only have Greb, Tunney & JHL above Bob, btw, as I do value dominating an era so thoroughly, very highly).
Hi Greg. Looking at your post/stats/ of Grebs resume at LHW, it appears that Greb has a case for being rated in the top echelons of that division, which may I say is not, or was not, in my head when appraising the division previously ! I have him as my No 1 MW, but gave little thought to him as a LHW contender, thanks for the enlightenment. stay safe buddy, chat soon.
