Im 24, started watching boxing around late 99 to 2000.

Morales is my favorite fighter. In fact I could probably say I started watching boxing because of him. Back around 2000 he was a straight up beast. This little scrawny man, in there giving it everything, I never seen anything like it and it made me a fan of the sport.

Prior to this, I had seen a boxer who was always at the park jogging. This was in middleschool before I followed boxing, around 1997, 1998. He was there with some old dude trainer and always jogging, sometimes playing basketball with a bunch of friends. Always very nice to the kids and talked with the coaches and workers of the park. We used to say hi to him all the time on the way to school. Also seen him jumping rope alot and I thought it was cool because he was so fast, straight out of Rocky, never seen anyone jump rope like that.

One day I was watching HBO boxing, not long after Morales just got me watching it and low and behold that guy was on HBO. Winky Wright vs Vargas. The dude I seen at the park all the time. Never in a million years would I have guessed this guy was a world champ, straight from my hometown. I mean he did have nice cars back then, BMW, a Dodge Viper, but it never dawned on me how succesful he was. I always assumed he was a small time amateur boxer because he was so down to earth and friendly with everyone. If I would have known that I would one day be a huge boxing fan, I would have talked to him a lot more back then.

Also the other guys I could really say I idolize other than the two above, would be Hearns, Foreman, both Klitschos and Ali.
