I felt broner was coming on very strong and if it wasn't for the second knockdown he would've taken over and closed out strong, but after that second knockdown I just knew he wouldn't come back on the cards from that. At that point I knew his 0 was gone unless he did something great.
"I know I won the fight, there is corruption and this is a robbery. I want an inquiry as I think Maidana payed of the judges"- Broner, if he'd bothered to do an interview after the fight.
117-108 Broner won the last round because of the hit after the bell in round 11. The ref saved Broner by giving him a long count and breaking up when Maidana got to him on the inside a couple of times. Broner elbowed and pushed all night. With a good ref he would be knocked out. A savage beating.
To be honest, I stopped scoring after the 6th round it was so lopsided, as I had only given Broner the 5th round at that point I believe. By the 8th-9th round I was saying he needed a KO to win, or multiple KD's to salvage a draw perhaps.
Yeah, he shook Maidana with that more than his minute break let him recover from. Broner was surprisingly dominant in those last few minutes and Maidana did seem in danger of suffering a Taylor vs. Froch kind of fate.
I gave Broner the 7th and 12th. 6th and was it either the 4th or 5th I think were close. Most I could see being given is 8-4 with Broner getting all the swing rounds there, the only one he won clearly was probably the 12th imo. 116 - 109
