I don't think W. Klitschko had a greater skill-set than Joe Bunger tbh. Thats not to say Bugner was bad , just both of them would come up short at the highest level.

Although if Bugner had WKs power he'd be a lot more dangerous. Joe had weaker fists but better feet , not footwork , his feet could move around more.

I think the mover guys of the 80's would give Wlad issues , probably even beat him. Tony Tucker for example.

Wilder out reigned Frazier , Liston and Norton. A feat achieved due to poor opposition , same as Vitali.. The two best guys that fought Vitali beat him.

Yeah his only accomplishment is twice beating a top 10 ATG HW and one of the greatest fighters of all time. Bowe's prime was very short lived but what he achieved in that short time was up there with the ATG's and as for your reference to Golota, well it's clear as day to me and many others that by 1996 Bowe was a shot, out of shape fighter who had aged prematurely, take a look at him during the ring walk and introductions for the 1st Golota fight, Bowe was only 28 years old but looked closer to 38.

Marciano is number one, followed by basically every single other pre-Liston heavyweight champion. Except Hart, Carnera, and Ingo, who only revisionists really rate, I guess.

Honorable mention to Frazier, who I think would have had a much tougher time against bigger men in later eras.

    Arguable.
Don't blink or you'll miss it.
His ducking of Lewis was masterful and I give him full credit for it ;)
According to some folks 40 year old fighters are at their best. * shrug * He may have been a step below his best for Golota but he was in no way hopelessly shot.

Mark had some gems in this thread. Ali and Wilfred had faster reflexes than Roy and Froch was stronger than Collins.

Everyone is overrated by someone (as well as "under") but H2H on the whole guys like Mugabi, Tua, Pryor, Holmes, Hagler, Tunney as a heavyweight. Some minorly some potentially more so. I've always suspected Valdez a bit one dimensional too and think he'd get found out by higher level slicksters. I've even the teeniest bit leery of Salvador Sanchez against the full variety of styles among the top echelon. They wouldn't want to slacken off of course. I can't put a guy like Tyson here because he seems to attract high percentages at opposite ends of the spectrum and hence things even out.

Sanchez is only overrated by rabid fanboys (like I used to be lol).

Sanchez is not weak H2H, quite the opposite. He just seems to have a strict stylistic disadvantage against some IMO, and it showed how great he was when he beat people like Cowdell and Ford despite the disadvantage. It's why I pick him to lose to Pep etc.

I would never think of the word "weak" when talking Sanchez H2H.

You actually point out his possible stylistic disadvantages i are talking about. There are plenty of guys immensely better than Ford and Cowdell that might present such stylistic problems. Can Sal overcome them against vastly better fighters, great fighters?

I'd not say he couldn't by a long shot but as i said i would be the teeniest bit leery when talking the full spectrum of greats.

If not already stated, Aaron Pryor. He was a no-defense, PED abusing guy with a shitty resume and poor dedication. He would’ve been picked apart by any number of guys. A prime Viktor Postol might have even given him hell.
