Mine was when Mayorga got layed out in the first round by Oscar... i could not believe it at all... then when he seemingly was hurt by every other punch later in the fight, just... didnt make sense to me. Later i realised that the illegal drug he took to even make the weight causes dizzyness... and thought that could have been it, after seeing vargas hurt him a few times, i just think his chin has deteriated from too much drinking and too many hard punches. I seen a lot of his sparring and he lets people punch him in the head for free in sparring too :-( But after seeing the Cruz fight, Lewis fight, Forrest fights, Trinidad fight, there was no way in hell anyone under middleweight will floor mayorga with one shot to the head... no way.... atsch - when Tarver one shotted Roy Jones... i was completely shocked. - when sanders destroyed wlad... :| - when pac manhandled MAB - when Morales quit against Pac i know theres more but those are what come to mind
1. Hearing Tyson was knocked out by Buster Douglas 2. Seeing Roy Jones getting knocked out in the 2nd by Tarver 3. Fan Man
Rolando Navarette coasting on a sure win before being stopped by Bazooka Limon....was never the same but what a talented fighter
1 - Watching Douglas dismantle Tyson 2 - Watching Williams dismantle Tyson 3 - Reading that McBride has dismangled Tyson EDIT: I wrote "dismangled" by mistake, but it actually works.
I was shocked when Danny Williams somehow managed to survive the barrage from Tyson... the guy did extremely well to stay on his feet
Agreed, it was the best I seen Tyson in years, he used pretty good head movement, and was putting his punches together quite well, it's just too bad his knee gave out. My most shocking moments were when Brewster knocked out Wlad, and when Briggs amazingly came back to knock Liakhovich out in the last seconds of the 12th round.
Kostya Tszyu quitting against Hatton. I was in a pub absolutely packed full of KT supporters in Surfers Paradise... I was telling all my friends that KT was going to KO Hatton in brutal fashion. IN the early rounds i kept saying that KT takes a couple rounds to get going. Then as the bout progressed, i started worrying more and more. The ref didn't seem to be breaking them up, KT wasn't landing much clean and the Sky commentators (as they always are) were being ridiculously biased towards the british fighter. Then, coming into the last round i knew he was behind. I still expected KT to come out and KO him, to hit him with everything. All of a sudden the bout ended. It didn't make sense at all. I just couldn't fathom why he would quit a close fight with only one round to go....
Jermain Taylor getting KO'd by Kelly Pavlik ... Felix Trinidad getting dominated 12 rounds by Bernard Hopkins. DLH throwing the fight against Hopkins
Say what you will about his chin or conditioning, but the man has the heart of a lion. He took an absolute vicious beating against Vitali Klitschko but never quit despite four knockdowns.
His heart is unquestionably as great as it is possible for a man's heart to be. He's proven this on three seperate occasions now. Shame he was off his head.
Tarver KOs Jones for me... shocking, most of us thought that Jones is just invincible... what a shocker! I never EVER saw the sport and art of pro boxing the same after that... I didn't see Tyson-Douglas back then but that has to be the most shocking upset ever... Of course some great suggestions here. Shockers, stunning upsets, sudden injuries burned into my retina: Johnson brutally KOs Jones... OMG! Not again! Sanders KOs Wlad WOW! Pac TKOs MAB Tszyu quits on stool Hopkins KOs Oscar Tiozzo KOs Michalczewski Pavlik KOs Taylor - 10 brutal shots in just 5 seconds, out of nowhere Donaire KOs Darchinyan Corrales TKOs Castillo from hell, Castillo KOs Corrales Forrest knocks down Mosley Mayorga KOs Forrest Mayweather KOs Hatton - NOBODY saw that punch coming Abraham-Miranda fight... that was the most bizarre so called boxing event I've ever witnessed...
