Bring back 15 rds for world title fights. As quoted once by the marvelous one " rds 13-15 are the road to the title". How many questionable decisions may not have occurred if the fight was set for 15 rds; Hopkins surely would have stopped Taylor both fights, Fenech would have stopped Nelson in the 1st scrap, & even blatant robberies such as Lewis/Holy 1, Oscar/Tito & Oscar/Sturm may not have occurred.

lots of great suggestions. I would also say make dvd's of fights available with extra commentary and 24-7 shows included if possible. ufc makes a killing selling their fights after the date. Boxing should do the same. also having old ppv on cable television like UF has would bring in a ton of new fans

    That's a great idea.

Here's a concept I've mulled over before, but still think it'd be awesome:

    1) Create one central governing body that has the power to either get the Alphabet Orgs. to comply with the following plan, or create ones that will.

    2) Every 4 years, similar the Olympics, there will be a single-elimination tournament with 8 fighters. This is where the ABC orgs (or their replacements) come in: the titles act as a "golden ticket"- any fighter who has one gets invited to the tournament to take up 4 guaranteed slots. The 4 remaining will be wild card spots given to the most deserving contenders as decided by the central organization, either by ranking or by a qualifying tournament.

    3) The 8 man tournament will ideally be completed within the year, meaning each fighter fights every 4 months, on average, in a tournament year. The winner gets universal recognition as that Grand Prix's (to steal a Pride term) champion.

    4) Should any fighter control 2 belts going into the tournament, they would receive a first-round bye.

    5) Here's the kicker: The Grand Prix tournaments are valid for the original 8 classes ONLY- meaning the extra classes could stick around outside of it, but fighters would have to go up or down in weight in order to make one of the Original 8 classes to fight in the tournament.

    6) Each year, 2 weight classes will have this tournament. The following year, 2 different classes. That way, every 4 years we'll have a cycle where every one of the original 8 classes has such a tournament and a Grand Champion.

I wouldn't allow rounds to be scored even. Judges must choose a clear winner of every round, unless referees take off points which makes it an equal round, and briefly sum up why, during the available minute between the end of the last and beginning of the next round.

Judges would also have to get they're official qualifications from the sole organization in charge of boxing worldwide.

Therefore, scoring fights would be less subjective and more factual with cards being judged from a similar foundation on the art of the sweet science.

Damn! Bob Arum would be extremely upset with theese changes. And BooRadley would probably commit suicide, along with Hermit and the rest of the MidwesternMethHeads...

I don't think either of these highlighted ones are a good idea. The actual sport itself doesn't need to adapt to the UFC mentality that a lot of younger fans are craving...

It just needs to be fixed from the outside. promoters, judges, and sanctioning bodies.
