I know you have it clear, you scored 9-3 and have Nishioka as your avatar.

My question was directed straight toward Bernie as he had it close in round 7-5.

I've now caught the first 4 rounds on Youtube and have Marquez up 3 rounds and the 4th even.

......through the first 4, Marquez is the agressor and he's scoring with cleaner shots more frequently.
Though as this thread suggests, Marquez took a tail spin in the 2nd half.......
I hope to have the rest of the fight scored by tommorow.

I will say this, through the first 4 rounds, Marquez looks to me a little more fluid than he did in his fight with Juan Ma, where he looked tight to me from the onset.

Btw BigBone, you have'nt posted a round by round score. I've found that in boxing forums like this a poster who argues hard for one fighter and does'nt post a score, usually dont because they did'nt actually score it.

Thought Nishi won by a mile. 9-3 seems reasonable. Marquez didn't seem to punch with anything like his old authority.

RF also seemed to fade late. Nishioka did a fine job however keeping away from the Marquez right, even if he had to ear a few stiff jabs in the process.

    Just finished scoring the fight.

Rounds 1,2,3,8 and 9 for Marquez.

    Rounds 5, 6,7,10,11,and 12 for Nishioka.

    Round 4 I had even.

    115-114 Nishioka.

Marquez lost steam, and as a result, Nishioka dominated the last 3 rounds.

I dont see where anyone can say Nishioka clearly won the fight.
On my card, the 5th round was the difference maker.
That 5th was a close round that I would have given to Marquez had it not been for a hard flush straight left Nishioka tagged Marquez win.
I gave it to Nishioka based on that one punch, but anyone could have just as easily scored that round for Marquez based on the jab, aggression, and more activity.

Two reasons for that. Nishioka's being defensive, but more importantly, Marquez had trouble with Nishioka's southpaw stance.
Marquez is usually very sharp with his right hand, but Nishioka took that away from Marquez by continously stepping to his own right and riding Marquez' right.
....a good way to counter that move would have been to throw a sharp left hook, but Rafael does'nt throw that shot quite as sharp as big brother.;)

Nishioka won clearly. He was just too good for Marquez. Rafa did have some success. But Nishioka's work was far better. I had UD for the Nish close but clear.

Check Boxrec every judge had it UD for Nish.

Why you always gotta make everything controversial? It's UD win for Nish.

I had it 8-4 for Nishioka.

Those last 3 rounds were painful to watch as a Rafa Marquez fan.

He still tried his best but it is obvious that he doesn't have much left in the tank.

I had it 115-113 for Nishioka.

    I gave Marquez rounds 2, 3, 4, 9, and 12 I think.

Some close rounds early. Marquez did well controlling the action with his jab in rounds 2-4, but after that those well timed lefts from Nishioka were the whole story of the fight.
