Because there's no evidence for it, none whatsoever. No allegations after the fight, no tests showing anything improper about the wraps, nothing. Just speculation without any evidence to back it up.

I think its unlikely that Margarito used illegal hand wraps to gain an advantage against a fighter who was thought to be well over the hill and a big underdog, but not against Cotto who was a huge favourite to win.

With this said his durability is always going to be his weakness. He got hurt badly multiple times at 140 pounds, regardless of whether Margarito had illegally wrapped hands, he has poor durability. Margaritos chin won him that fight in my opinion, not his power.

All we have is logic, but you don't exercise much of that.

Thats because they can take more punishment than Cotto.

Cotto did not absorb the same kind of punches from Shane that Margarito did, we should clarify that right now. The fact that he didn't should of course be credited to the defense and absolutely dominant jab he exhibited early in that fight. By the time Shane started going for broke and catching him, it was late in the fight and he was obviously too tired to follow up effectively. Which again, is to Cotto's credit.

I don't think anyone in their right mind thinks Cotto could absorb the kind of punches Shane was landing on Margarito for nine rounds.

Floyd also got wobbled by corley, not saying corley is a big puncher by any means, but if you get hit in the temple hard enough i dont care how good your chin is or how weak the other fighter is, you're gonna get wobbled. Judah is known to hit hard as **** and has hurt or wobbled several fighters..Margarito isnt really regarded as a heavy puncher, but im sure hes not a light puncher either.
