Your opinion of Lucian Bute - the man, the warrior - is Bute good for boxing?

The division has Dawson, Pascal, Hopkins, Johnson, Cloud, and a bunch of nobodies who offer nothing. Dawson/Pacal have a mandatory rematch. Johnson is busy with Froch. Cloud just went the distance with an old fat Zuniga. There is no reason to believe Hopkins would fight Bute.

You cannot give one single logical reason for Bute to do anything other than wait for the S6 to wind down.

 

When i watch a bute fight i know it will be fun to watch, that is what brought me to like him, that is what got him caught by andrade in there fight, he had the fight won, but he was still making the 12th a fun round to watch, by mixing up a little, an droping his guard, that to me is good for boxing. Bad for boxing is a mayweather, running a whole fight, being called out, an not fighting.......NOOOOO ONE has called out BUTE, No one. I wouldn't mind if he started calling boxers out thoe, but that would just go against his NICE nature i guess

 

Is that what you would do if you were Bute's manager?

Team Bute wouldn't even entertain the Pascal fight. It never even got to a point where the IBF threatened to strip him if he didn't fight Brinkley right then. So that's no excuse. And it should not have mattered regardless.

 

If he draws 10K+ for a fight with Magee it would be pretty good. Not many US fighters, if any, can draw that many people for a fight they are expected to win easy.

 

Now we're in agreement. Bute is not getting any better, and may be regressing. Some of that has to do with the level of opposition.

 

I sometimes have doubts about his promoter. Not about Bute's heart. The way he stood up against Andrade was courageous. He then insisted to give him the rematch instead fighting Froch (I'm pretty sure his promoter was the one negociating for the Froch fight, but Bute was at the end of his contract and insisted very hard to clear the Andrade rematch).

His promoter is a sports bars owner. He was very green in the business and didn't managed to get Bute in the mix. Bute never refused to fight anyone.

 

Yeah Bute is a ducker because he doesnt go up in weight! LOL! Please Decebal! Do you think that is really that easy to go up in weight and then come back at 168 with no problems? If he goes up at LHW he needs to put some more muscles on him...

I think he is good for boxing in Canada. Unfortunately his options have been limited as of late.

I think the talent is there, but he needs to make an impact fight soon. Whether that be Pascal(should he get past Dawson in the rematch) or one of the S6 dropouts, something has to happen. He isn't getting any younger.

 

He is really good, He has to fight the winner of Super Six..
