I am not sold on Valuev at all,but you are like an old geezer dreaming of old times. A lot of people tend to regard old memories more mildly than they actually were.
Hollyfield looked like **** against a no-hoper like Cyzz,so did some other mentioned names in this thread against very mediocre opposition.
Everyone can have a day off! Even top fighters are only human beings.I dont want to belittle those old fighters and their achievements, but that era wasnt better than today's one.
I had a good laugh when people really stated here that Morrison,Rudor,or Mercer would wipe the floor with today's top fighters. Ludicrious!

And yes,I watched Valuev vs Hollyfield. Very lame fight which was no fun to watch at all,an offense for my sore eyes.
Valuev showed an embarrasing performance, and that old zombie Holyfield wasnt able to show more. That fight really didnt deserve a victor at all.
Anyway! That fight didnt prove nothing at all.

Some weeks ago I watched Golota vs Bowe I and II. Damn! Both Bowe and Golota didnt impress me much.Even in their primes they wouldnt have been able to hold a candle to someone like Povetkin for example.
Povetkin fought better fighters at the amateurs.
All those ancient faces are totally overrated among a certain section of fight fans-especially American fight fans.
And lets not forget that all those known American old timers didnt have any real competition outside their native soil then. The picture would have been totally different if fighters of the former soviet union had been able to fight at the pros.A lot of those known American would have got their ass handed by their soviet counterparts.
A pity that American m oney is still an important factor in today's pro game and that some great fight nations like Cuba,Russia,Uzbekistan,or Armenia lack the necessary means to stage a lot of pro fight cards.Otherwise numerous talents there would turn pro and America's role would be totally insignificant at today's pro circus.
Even the national squad of my tiny native soil kicked the ass of America's best selection of amateurs when they met.
Pah! Totally overrated most Americans. We kicked their ass quite convincingly, but none of our boys has turned pros whereas some of those members of that American squad now make some noise in the paid ranks.

Povetkin and Haye are still unproved in HW, that doesn`t make them weak! Valuev is **** and Peter have no skills, i will agree on that!

I'd like to make that the point, that it's a bit too premature to proclaim Povetkin's superiority as a heavyweight over a prime Bowe just yet.

Yes I know...And we have guys who are "UNPROVEN" AS TOP HEAVYWEIGHTS...THAT MAKES FOR A HORRIBLE DIVISION WHEN GUYS THAT ARE 13-0 ARE TOP CONTENDERS:rofl:rofl:rofl

Klitchko fans think this division is as good as any!! THERE A BUNCH OF JOKES!
