So basically you're saying all of them except this Terrell guy who you're not sure about & Buster Douglas are the only guys on that list that Wlad would beat? Are you ****in' stoned?

Bowe was overated and so was Norton.

I won't disagree based on his resume, but the nature of the fighters included in the original post -- also including Douglas, the ultimate one-hit wonder -- indicates discussion along the lines of far-reaching speculation.

To me, Bowe's infighting was strong enough that he'd have been able to touch Wladimir somewhat regularly, something no one has been able to do in a long time. And that's the key. If you can put leather on him, his offensive output becomes stymied. (Vitali, meanwhile, is a horse of a different color.)

I'm not arguing that Bowe did succeed against a comparable fighter to Wladimir, and he never even fought one. For that matter, Mike Tyson holds no such victories, either, but I'd make him a heavy favorite over Klitschko.

Bowe is a more difficult call over Wladimir than Tyson, obviously, but he certainly did possess speed, strength, power, infighting, chin and heart. He also could go to war over a long period of time.

Put another way, Wladimir hasn't faced anyone with Bowe's gifts, either. How do we know for sure based on his resume that he could deal with such a skilled and determined opponent? Guys with speed (Sanders), power (Peter) or chin (Brewster) have troubled Wladimir, and Bowe combines all of those attributes to a substantial degree.

I think it would a terrific fight with both men landing their best shots.

As for the shotness vs. Golota, that's a matter of opinion. His speech, never great to begin with, did worsen in the immediate period post-Holyfield, however, and the fact that he descended so quickly into eccentric and erratic behavior leads me to believe that his dementia gained hold very early.

    I obviously don't know, though.

Putting to rest indifferences and agreeing that Bowe's strenght would be his inside fighting, I just don't think that would be a benefit and the necessary skill you would need to beat Wlad. Only because Wlad has more or less put himself in a position to absolutely negate any effective inside game from an opponent. His clinching, laying his body weight on the opponent, his footwork, etc...I just don't see Bowe every being in a position to "get off" against Wlad. I think it would be very similar to shades of the Golota fight where Wlad would just pick at Bowe from a distance.

That certainly is a possibility and no doubt would be the ticket to victory for Wladimir. This is why I don't give Povetkin much of a shot. He has poor defense and labors heavily to fire combos, and he'd get manhandled.

However, I think this is easier said than done against Bowe, who had the more agile feet (in terms of raw athleticism), as Wladimir looks very clumsy when he relies heavily on his lower body (e.g., versus Peter). Bowe also can work better on the inside and I think would be more comfortable with the clinching than anyone Wladimir has fought.

    I'll give these a shot

Wlad ud Baer- Baer is sloppy and amatuerish and would get outboxed handily. He could punch so Wlad wouldn't open up much and he had a good chin so he'd probably hear the final bell. Wlad by wide decision.

Wlad ko late Terrell- Terrell was a good big fighter in his day but lacks the offfense to beat Wlad. Fight would be boring.

Wlad ko Norton by the 7th or 8th- Dangerous fight and would probably be entertainig but Norton really did have trouble with bangers and Wlad qualifies.

Wlad ko late Spinks- Spinks was a great light heavy and seemed like a good heavy but is really outgunned here. He was awkward and smart enough to last and a surprise big right could make things interesting.

Wlad ud Douglas- Buster was a one hit wonder but always had a good jab. He could make this interestig but Wlad is a solid favorite.

Wlad ko Bruno- This would be interesting. Bruno had a good jab and big power I have no problem with someone picking him. I think Wlad wins this with handspeed and gets to Bruno quicker than Frank gets to him.

Bowe ko's Wlad-Sure Bowe "only" beat Holyfield but did you actually watch those classics. Bowe would find his way inside in this fight. At that point the fight over. I'd expect fireworks in this with Bowe getting touched and hurt here. But I'd take Bowe by ko within 6.

Just agree to disagree. Pure speculation of course, but based on every fight I have seen of Bowe's (I missed some early ones), I would anticipate him doing everything he could to bait Wlad to play on the inside but Wlad wouldn't. He would stay at a safe distance and pick him apart with his jab until Bowe would open up more and get caught with a left hook.

I don't think Wlad gets near enough credit for his ring intelligence. Wlad knows his inside game is **** and he doesn't put himself in a position to expose that weakness. And Wlad has an impressive amount of mid round ko's which suggest he adapts much better (and wears down the opponent) than he gets credit for.

Bowe was scared of big guys-Golota had his no.twice- are you saying that a timid Bowe takes it to Wlad, with all that firepower, and starts landing shots? I don't think so.
Bowe eats jabs early, and falls back into his famous defensive mode, and lets Wlad know he is intimadated. Lights out.

Absolutely agreee! The clowns on this forum are just pathetic. None of these fighters are in the same leage with Wlad, two or three levels below.

Cooney is probably the only one who actually hit harder than vlad however Vlad could hit with both hands cooney only had the left. Foreman was better when he was older than younger. So who knows. When you look at some of the older fights these guys got hit alot Vlad doesn't these guys couldn't get hit by vlad as much as they got hit by others. Granted Vlad will not extend himself to throw alot not to leave himself open so who knows what would would happen this is all speculation. I personally think that Valuev would be the most difficult person that i see right now for Vlad because of his size and power and chin I donot see any Joe frazier style fighters out there who could swarm him for twelve rounds.
