Floyd is a great, no doubt. I'll say that if that was Leonard in there with him in the 2nd round, Ray probably would've gotten him out of there. I still think Ray beats him clearly. I could conceive of Mayweather being rated higher than Hearns ATG, but that's a nightmare matchup for Mayweather at 147. He'd be fighting uphill all night against that jab and power.
    Great fighter though, no doubt.

I cant see how this fight would change ones opinion in regards to him being more competitive with Hearns and Leonard...whom are all wrong for anyone at the weight, that includes Floyd.
They are just another level at the weight for me...Outboxing an ageing Shane who at times was outboxed by Miguel Cotto doesnt really change that IMO.

I think thats getting a little overexcited by the event anarci.

That being said he is still going to be a difficult fight for them..its just that I thought that before and this fight really didnt effect my feelings on those fights.

The same, he's still an *******! Great fighter? Indeed, always thought that... still not as great as some think he is though.

    With that said...

I just finished watching the fight. I turned the volume off... and here is what I saw.

I saw Mosley force the action. I saw Mayweather throw punches when he had to. I saw a lot of missing.

Only a few rounds were decisively won IMO... but the judges gave all of the non-decisive rounds to Mayweather. Non-decisive translates to "could have went either way" to me, how about you? Also, most of the rounds were non-decisive IMO.

Mosley clearly won the first two rounds IMO (the 2nd without a doubt), can we agree on that?

Mayweather clearly won rounds 10 and 11.

Rounds 3,6, and 7 were close. Did Mayweather really clearly win all of these rounds? Can a case be made for Mosley in any of these rounds? How about a 10-10 round? I think Mosley did well in these rounds.

Not much happened in rounds 4,5,8,9, and 12... nobody had the upper hand IMO. Why give Mayweather all of these rounds? Did he clearly win them? Is there no justification for a 10-9 round for Mosley in any of these rounds? How about a 10-10 round?

Don't get it twisted!!! I'm not saying Mayweather didn't deserve the win.

I read about how Mayweather dominated Mosley and put on an awesome boxing clinic. I even read that Mayweather almost had Mosley out late in the fight. I didn't see that at all.

What does a fighter have to do to win a round vs. Mayweather? I feel like the scorecards in a Mayweather fight are on autopilot sometimes. 119-109, really?

I know many will call me crazy, or worse... whatever! I never said I thought Mosley won. I just think it was closer than 119-109 or even 118-110. I just want to know why all of the close rounds or rounds where barely anything happens always end up 10-9 for Mayweather, why?

I was impressed with the way he adjusted, he is a great defensive fighter but after the 2nd rd right hands I am not so sure he would survive a fight with Leonard or Duran. Floyds stock went up in my book but I would like to see him fight Pac soon and use the normal tests for steroids not the $20,000 7 blood test version. Other than that I dont see Berto even Paul Williams being much of a test. Cotto is too slow for him IMO...who else is there

Ive been saying all along that Mayweather was not a true welterweight. He is now, and he showed how complete a fighter he is by pressing the fight and beating the **** out of Mosley. I called a late round stoppage and I guess I was right, because Mosley stopped fighting completely in the 7th.
Its amazing how much damage he can do and how he can set the pace of a fight with such a small amount of offense. I cant think of any other fighter who has been able to do that and people need to think about that when comparing FLoyd to the old time greats, because its not what he cant do himself, but what he keeps his opponents from doing with such little effort. He made his investment in the second round to get the fight on his terms and then it was over. Truly one of the smartest ring fighters ever to lace them up.

Ok even though i picked Mosley i even admitted before the fight that i might been going with my heart over my head, despite Shane being past his prime i still think he was an elite fighter and Floyd just made him look bad. My opinion on this Rock is that everyone here will be talking about what a great performance floyd put on 10 years from now.

Believe me im a big Mosely fan as you can tell by my avi, and ive been accused here of biased scoring(not true) and Floyd dominated this fight i even gave Shane a 10-8 round in the second(it was probably 10-9). After the 6th round i stopped scoring the fight as Mayweather clearly dominated, If Shane was an up and comer you could even had made a case for them stopping the fight around the 11th in between rounds. Although Shane deserved to go the 12 rounds even Nazim threatened to stop the fight in the corner.

Also, what's with this "now"? Don't get me wrong, it was a great win, but when you're ranked as high as Mayweather should have been pre-Mosley, a win over a low-level ATG can't catapult you 20 places up an ATG P4P list, no way.

Last night reaffirmed Mayweather's greatness to me, rather than enhancing it by any great amount; and, unless you under-rated him to begin with, you should feel the same.

I didn't change my mind on him, he just confirmed once again how good he is. I was surprised when Mosley landed the right hand early but I imagine it was just ring rust and his timing was slightly off. Mosley never landed another meaningful right hand again. However I must say that I was very disappointed in Mosley's performance, he brought very little to the table in the end. Not much aggression and very little creativity about his work. He's a fighter who relied on his physical tools and he doesn't have those tools anymore. Hopefully he calls it a day.

Floyd is clearly one of the best fighters of the last 10 years after last night I am more upset with Floyd as I am wondering why he has no other performances like it at welter weight.

Many posted 'Walker/Duran/etc will walk through Mayweathers punches to land their own'. I actually think Mayweathers better performances come when his hands arent injured, he broke a hand in his fight before facing Delahoya

You know I make sense Bodhi, accept the truth

Its insane to have Mayweather in the top10, yet many have Armstrong in their top10 lists who would get dominated by Mayweather from 130-147 imo and was only on top for a couple of years, Duran who had a relatively weak lightweight run and went 1-5 against his 4 best opponents, Pep who only fought in 1 division
