If anybody out there paid for a Hopkins PPV they deserve that awful fight if not a beating. That it pretty much it. Hopkins is garbage and has been for a long time.
All these people saying that this is a black eye for boxing are wrong. NO casual boxing fans ordered this fight, only die hard boxing fans did. The die hard fans arent going anywhere, and the casual ones dont care about any Hopkins fight to begin with. Bottom line, dont buy a fight where ANY 46 year old is headlining. Its amazing that after Jones-Hopkins II that anyone paid to see Bernard. He would never have gotten injured the way he did if he was younger, so next time you pay to see an old man, expect to see an old man. If this was on regular HBO it may have actually done more damage because people who wouldnt normally tune in to a fight, may watch and then it could potentially hurt boxing. OR it would gain fans because of the DeMarco-Linares fight.
