Joan Guzman vs Nate Campbell Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz winner of the tournament fights pacquiao at 135.
I'm starting to have serious misgivings if we don't hear Froch/Taylor announced soon. And it would seem we need Kessler/Palle before Kessler/Bute. Providing Kessler wins of course.
check this 25 million to the winner of the tournament 12.5 million to 2nd place 7 million$ to 3rd place 5.5 million$ to 4th place 3.125 million to all 4 first round losers. Total cost in purses is 50million$ 1st round you have 2 cards in back to back weeks: first card is Pac vs Mayweather with Margarito vs Clottey on the undercard. That can generate at least 40million$ with the PPV alone (800K buys) 2nd card is Mosley vs Berto and Cotto vs Williams on the undercard which can probably generate at least 20 million$ the PPV alone (400K buys). then 3 or 4 months later you have the winner of Pac vs PBF against the winner of Mosley vs Berto. with the winner of Margartio vs Clottey facing off against hte winner of Cotto vs Williams. Another huge card that can generate at least 40 million$ in PPV alone. Then the final will sell itself. A guaranteed blockbuster event and you can pit the 2 semi-final losers against each other on the undercard for the additional 1.5million$ that goes to 3rd place. The total cost in purses is 50million$. But the event generates at least 120million$ in PPV money. Then you have the gate for all 4 nights which is another 30million at least. The whole thing can be done in like 8 months. I don't see why noone steps up to the plate and does it. A Network like HBO could make a killing and broadcast the whole thing their way.
I really like the way you think. Let's put a Promotion Company together and make this happen... Forget about this big dogs that only put fights together that real boxing fans don't want to see or they take forever for them to be made... We should call that company Hardcore Fan Boxing Productions :rasta
I like this one ... I think that would put the super middleweight division on the map. The winner(s) to fight each other for the undisputed championship. 1. Juanma Lopez v Israel Vasquez (WBO/WBC/Ring Magazine) 2. Celestino Caballero v Vic Darchinyan (IBF/WBA) 3. Rafa Marquez v Fernando Montiel 4. Jhonny Gonzalez v Daniel Ponce De Leon winner of 1 and 4 face each other in the semis winner of 2 and 3 face each other in the semis then the winner of the semis face off against each other in the finals.
this won't be done because the promoters would never be able to agree to their share. you see, pacquiao, cotto, margarito and clottey are promoted by bob arum, mosley is from golden boy, mayweather promotes himself, i don't know who has the rights on williams, and berto is promoted by dibella. for promoters it makes sence to have 1 big main event and a good undercard, 2 times a month. rather than having a huge event once a month with great fights throughout because that way they make more money from gates, sponsors and ppv.
