This fight is definitely worthy of a rematch. Ruiz showed he can take a punch and keep coming. Close fight, had it 115-113 for Parker, but a draw is good too.

Totally agree. Parker scraped in due to Ruiz not being able to control the pace from Rnd 4 onward.

Having said that, one thing worth pondering-
To me, Ruiz is very similar to Takam. Hits harder, though. He is shorter for a HW and has a granite chin. Brawls well. Kind-of a stylistic nightmare for JP - a constant pressure fighter just like Takam is.

These guys Parker should avoid. But the taller guys - he tends to smash them. Go figure.

Ruiz and Takam are both bad styles for Joe. Haye would be too. Short, hard-hitting, fast.

I think we will see him do well with taller fighters consistently. Front foot fighting. Aggressor. Huge difference.

I had Parker, but only narrowly and I'm not a Kiwi.

Only 30% of the poll here had Ruiz winning it and on that basis I'd hardly call the result controversial in the eyes of this forum.

    I had it 116-112,

Clean effective punches were all landed by parker, no way a win for ruiz, or a sdraw, Ruiz done little, and when he did catch Parker, it was sloppy and not full contact.

Parkers jabs and body shots were beautiful.

But based on that performance, he will be battered by Joshua and Whyte. I can see the light, I hope you guys can, Haye beats him, Povetkin beats him, Wilder beats him.

He still a top champion, but he will have a target on his back.

Parker likes tall opponents. He likes being the aggressor.

Not Whyte, I don't think. He's not much good, Chisora nearly had him out of there.

    R1 - 10-9 Ruiz
    R2 - 10-9 Ruiz
    R3 - 10-9 Parker (close)
    R4 - 10-9 Ruiz
    R5 - 10-9 Parker
    R6 - 10-9 Parker
    R7 - 10-9 Parker
    R8 - 10-9 Ruiz (close)
    R9 - 10-9 Parker
    R10 10-9 Parker
    R11 10-9 Parker (close) headbutt
    R12 10-9 Ruiz (close)

115-113 Parker but I have no problems with people scoring it thr other way for Ruiz. Nice, close and competitive fight the whole way through.

Watched the 1st 6 rounds again...To be honest it was a little hard concentrating last night with mates around and rum.

    Round 1- 10-9 Parker
    Round 2- 10-9 Ruiz
    Round 3- 10-9 Ruiz
    Round 4- 10-9 Parker
    Round 5- 10-9 Parker
    Round 6- 10-9 Parker

Which put the 115-113 score about right as the last 6 rounds were even in my eyes.
