Hard to give or see a guy earn rounds when he refuses to let his hands go so Parker won.
If Ruiz would of let his hands go this had the potential to be an upset as homie took all Parker had to dish out and kept coming

Its the worst thing for a fighter to find themselves wanting after a fight. Thinking 'Hey he didnt hurt me, I wasnt even tired, I couldve won that' Id say its worse than losing convincingly. Losing convincingly, you can say you lost and accept it but Ruiz Id imagine to be guttered with himself right now as we speak. Ruiz defintely couldve won it, he was right there.

I think Parker might have been a bit burned out, wasn't that his 5th fight this year?

If Ruiz did engaged more I'm sure that his stamina would have faded. He gave what he got. Parker is the one that could have done better of his.

Ruiz is great in spurts, but short reach and poor stamina just keeps him under B Class level.

Parker is atleast a legitime B class fighter.

From last December to this December inclusively he has fought Daniel Martz, Jason Bergman, Carlos Takam, Solomon Haumono, Alexander Dimitrenko and Andy Ruiz Jr. There a 5 training camps at least 6 weeks long in that time - so he has spent well over half of this year in camp and done 40 rounds in competition, with two of his hardest fights in that time.... and arguably two of best heavyweights to receive an L this year were at Parker's hands.

Been a HUGE year, he's definitely due for a break!

And last night was no walk in the park as homie was taking everything Parker had and was still following him around just begging for more. Parker has been very active this year so hats off to him for not evolving into a pink Diva.

Rematch PLEASE for 2017 as that was a good fight IMO

Yeah, he needs a rest now, and no more than 4 fights next year.

I just rewatched some older Parker fights. If we look at the difference between where he is and a true elite HW, basically he needs have the stamina and confidence to fight at a high intensity for all 12 rounds. He is actually pretty good when he's pushing the pace and throwing lots of jabs and combinations. But he doesn't seem to have the confidence or stamina to do that right through the fight.

He also needs quite a bit more experience since he didn't have much of an amateur career. I think his punching accuracy isn't nearly as good as his speed.

I don't agree Ruiz wasn't hurt, he wasn't hurt BADLY. He WAS tired, he was digging very deep and showing more sign of fading than Parker. I think he did as well as he could have on the day with the conditioning he had (that fixed and it'd be a scarier fight), I feel like Parker possibly could have pressed play slightly more at times but was trying to stick to a given plan.

About 35; 27-8 is the estimated record. But he was only on the amateur circuit for two years, generally fighting regional or youth opponents. He's basically chosen to try to learn his skills in the pro ranks, something like Canelo did.

The pro game suits him better though, he has a great chin and decent punching power. Skill-wise I don't think he is elite (yet).

If you watch his WSB fights he showed a great chin already and a willingness to throw leather, however he missed far too much. If you look at his career punch stats, you will also see that his connection % is low.

That's definitely something he needs to work on.

Yep Parker even spoke about his fight plan weeks before the fight. He fought like he told us but I personally expected a knockout. Overall Parker boxed very well IMO, he fought like a tall man should do.

Almost everytime Ruiz put together some big flurries, Parker would come back with something to show he wasnt hurt by all that. This kinds of shows Parker was witholding a bit and probably couldve put out more. This also shows his discipline and his ability to fight to a plan that is not usually his style. Versatility.

I scored it 7-5 for Parker. Good fight that could have been scored for Ruiz but I thought Parker deserved the win.

I don't think its some sort of necessity and Parker probably has other plans but I wouldn't mind a rematch.

115-113 Parker. Just like Ward vs Kovalev, it came down to the last round on my card. Correct winner here too, my opinion.

On a side note: If Parker won the sponsor Burger King would put on a special for one day....

Burger King sells almost 140,000 Whopper burgers at $2 each after Parker win
