Duane Bobick, the only fighter I've ever seen get knocked out by a punch to the Adam's Apple by Ken Norton in 1977 round one.
Joe Louis-simply the best Rocky Marciano- the man's man Joe Frazier-Heart and Soul Jack Dempsey-Hands of Steel Mike Tyson-with Cus could have been 50-0 George Foreman-powerful but vulnerable style Ali-always put on a show Schmeling-smarts and power but outside negative influence Jack Johnson-confidence and FU mentality Walcott-school of hard knocks Lennox Lewis- BIG LENNY_GREAT OFFENSE AND SIZE Quarry-Jerry the Giant Killer
Ali for me, because he was the first boxer I heard of as a kid. I used to stay up late at night and listen to the after round summaries of his fights on the a.m. radio, as I was supposed to be asleep during those late hours. In fact, on the way back from a July 4 weekend excursion to Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, we stopped at the Ali Center/Museum in Louisville Sunday afternoon. Nice place, free admission, I'll be going back.
