Loughrans jab was his bread and butter...he had very little else in his offensive arsenal, so it had to be damned good.

I rate Pastrano's jab as highly as I do anyone else's. He was able, according to the boxing writers of his time, able to "tattoo his name and address on an opponent's face.and just witness how effective it was vs a defensive technician like Harold Johnson.

Maxie, I really can't tell you much more than that. I asked the question to these two guys who spent many a session with Danny. I basically said something like, Danny's jab on TV didn't seem like much more than a point-getter. And they both sort of twirled simultaneously to tell me the TV didbn't translate his power. My question obviously brought back memories of pain. But they both said the same about the Lopez jab. That it was like a piece of wood being jabbed into you. I wish these two guys would get onto this site, they could definitely tell you more.

Actually, Chicago, but I've made the trek out there many times for events. I've always been totally enamored with the west coast boxing scene.

Jim Watt relative to the rest of his skills. Some of the best timing on a jab I've ever seen.

Hearns, Hagler and Whitaker stand out more than anyone else imo.

But thereafter you could probably throw a blanket over 20 odd fighters:

    Archer
    Lewis
    Holmes
    Driscoll
    B. Leonard
    Loughran
    Kalambay
    Famechon
    Winstone
    Conteh
    Ross
    Wright
    Ali
    Monzon
    H. Johnson
    B. Graham
    Larkin
    Tunney
    Quartey
    DLH

    1. Holmes
    2. Hearns

    3. Quartey
    4. Whitaker
    5. Ali

Holmes and Hearns were in their own league, in my opinion.
