    How you present yourself to others is always a factor to consider. Are you suggesting boxers are so limited that they shouldn't be held to the standards the rest of us are constrained by? If so, I've a higher opinion of boxers than you!

    And no, we don't judge each other the way we judge athletes who's fights and accomplishments we're debating.

    It's said constantly here. Some fighters are pure pieces of ****.

    Jack Johnson, Joe Louis... Their wife beating has zero to do with how we feel about their accomplishments.

    Ayala Jr has a massive fan here. He's a child ******.

    Why doesn't it? Do you think a couple of kids may look up to their "heros" in the ring? If there is even one kid that does, it has something to do with everything in the boxing realm! Period!

    The inept can always tell us about how great a person is, while at the same time excluding what they really are. Boxing is no different than any other sport regarding who my kids may choose to look up to.

    No. You're in the very smallest minority here, judging fighters resume and in-ring abilities by what they've done out of it.

    number 3 i rank them in periods .....my number 1 is Mike Tyson 1986-1989
    number 2 is Rocky Marciano , Holmes is third 1980-1984 ...

    Well you have ALL the information you can possibly have abot the fighters you are working with. In some cases you have seen EVERY fight that guy has ever been in.

    When I math Liston with Tyson I do so having seen almost everything they have done.

    When I matched Pavlik with Taylor (I had Pavlik to win on points both times) i've only seen Taylor fight a dozen times and only seen Pavlik fight once.

    I rate him somwhere close to the top 10, Larry was the most conditioned fighter of the 80's and his condition kept him on top, but even though a lot of it may not have been Larry;s fault, he avoided too many top fighters in his era, and IMO this hurts him. Had Larry fought (Weaver rematch) Big John Tate,Pinklon Thomas,Greg Page,Michael Dokes, Gerrie Coetzee, and even though he was older could have given 16 fight Witherspoon and Williams a rematch after disputed wins. If Holmes had fought 2-3 of these guys I think he had a good shot of winning and having a higher place as an ATG in contrast Marciano fought 5 # 1 contenders and 1 # 2 contender. You can not miss 6-7 top fighters in your era and still be called the best, even though you MAY have been
